Yeah, I second both of these points. Maybe keep the 25% bonus XP trait for mages though, to reflect them having the smarts.

I've been playing on hard difficulty... and have absolutely none of these problems... Yeah, the tactical combat isn't what it could be (no cover, no terrain modifiers, etc), but they've said that they're working on it.
Nope, I typically run custom factions, so I don't exactly roleplay, but I tend to play to the style of the faction I've made. Same goes for when I use the vanilla factions. I'll often be friendly to some AI's, particularly the one my faction would get along with, give them good deals, etc, and help them, even if I don't have the alliance treaty yet. I research the things my faction would research, rather than the ones that are the best to research at the time, etc. <b
Excellent, excellent. Now to see the militia bug/mechanic fixed, so that they will defend settlements more than once ever.
Yeah, unfortunately, four fairly sizeable stacks of ironeers did those in by battle 2... lol Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Yeah, as it stands Cavalry are waaaay too cheap. There is absolutely no disadvantage to not cranking out only horsemen or warg riders. Maybe decreasing the amount to .1 Horse/Warg gained per turn, and/or greatly increasing the upkeep cost for mounted units, which if we're going to be somewhat realistic here, that was the main problem with fielding too many cavalry. Horses were expensive as hell to maintain. One could make the same conclusion to giant riding wolves. ...Also, why

I hadn't thought about the levelling tree but something including a tall tower to make your capitol stand out from the other cities. Something perhaps upgradeable that is an outward symbol of the might of your kingdom/empire egs the tower of Ecthelion in Minas Tirith or even the Wizards Tower in MoM...
Maybe having a unique one to each race, that slowly grows as you level it up, maybe b
Yes, Firefly, good suggestions. Giving the militia a fixed healing rate (probably the same as normal troops) would work pretty well. As it stood before, I remember in base fallen enchantress, having a defense force of militia against several armies, and with each battle, they came back at full strength, so either it was changed with Legendary Heroes, or a bug showed up then. But if you say its been around beta enchantress, then I guess it doesn't always happen? Maybe? I'll play
Not a bad idea. Getting something of a super-city going on. I think it should always apply to only your first city, and it should be its own leveling tree, with different options at each level, unique to the town/conclave/fortress that are already there. Could give some, but not all of the benefits of being either of the three other city types, and yes, having unique capital buildings would be cool, regardless of the implementation of the rest.
That would make sense, except that any of your garrisoned units will fight in any other battles... Maybe the undisciplined militias get too drunk after their first victory and pass out for the rest of the battles. Except that they don't return ever, implying that they probably got so drunk that they all died of alcohol poisoning. Yeah, seriously, something needs to be done about this... I refuse to play this game until this is fixed, because it's pretty crippling
So it was just brought to my attention that your militia will only fight once. Ever. If your city gets attacked by multiple armies, your militia will only fight in the first battle, and then are never seen again. Meaning, if you have an awesomely defended castle, and an enemy decides to attack it with two weak armies, you'll easily crush the first one, and probably take no casualties, but then for some reason, the militia simply don't appear, so the enemy just take the city with their

I would also like the AI to only talk to me when it has something useful to say, and not spam the hell out of me with it's jabbering and threats. I would like the AI to at least appear intelligent, by doing things for a reason and not stumble about banging it's head on the walls.
<br
I dont really understand what everybody is constantly complaining about. I've played several games through on challenging difficulty, and most of the heroes are just fine. It's not that hard to level them, just give each one a small supporting force and have them kill things in the countryside... or while at war. If you have enough mana, cast tutelage on them to make it even easier. I have no problem with Ascian, the lightning attack is great, and maul is damn handy. The spider guy is
I like the new armor idea. Encumbrance was a bit clunky... heh... And that'll mean no more mage sovereigns/champions running around in plate armor... which was always annoying to see.
Yeah, please don't spend too much time on shadows. I barely notice them regardless, and end up turning them off to maximize framerate and speed... I believe work on gameplay elements would be better. But great game, regardless.
Faction oriented influx events- Altar could see a boost in adventurers signing up for service, and they can get a free champion, or a couple Henchmen. Resoln could hit a breakthrough in it's Death Magic research and Ceresa could be granted a random Death Magic spell. Magnar could get an Influx of Slaves event spawning a free slave army outside their capital, ready to do the Magnar's bidding. Gilden could recieve an Abundance of Armor event an
And yes, the introduction of minor factions/neutral cities would be bloody awesome.
Indeed, there should be a big revamp. Yeah, some of those are already in. Mostly bad ones for your faction. But yes, excellent suggestion, they should hit all players rather than just you. And some good ones to balance out the bad, otherwise I'm just turning them off.
Yeah, that would be nice. I don't really like it, nor find it realistic, when a group of rock spiders utterly destroys by small city because I didn't leave any defenders there.
I do actually like them, I thought Endless Space, for instance, brought in random events very well. I don't think random events are necessarily supposed to be interruptions. Some of them could certainly be, but there should also be plenty that don't interrupt the general game by unleashing hordes of skeletons on everything (well only you, really, the AI's don't seem to be affected)... But I see your point, the ones in Legendary Heroes are almost all interruptions. Just about e
From what I've seen, and I've played through the game numerous times, random events aren't so much random (as in random chance of good or bad things happening), and more or less just bad. Almost every single random event is pretty much just bad for your faction, the skeletons appearing, the syndicate uprising, the plague, etc. They have no positive side, except a little XP and maybe an item for defeating something... but it's not worth it at all. Even the not "terrible"
Yup, got the same problem. Have killed Vetrar twice, Delin once and Abeix once. No achievements.
