I've seen this as well. I was able to build the ongoing projects after a few turns, although they didn't all restore at once. Usually I'd get wealth first, which sucks because my tax rate is usually None.

I've seen this happen in my games a bunch of times.
I have released the latest and final (at least until there are new tiles) version of this mod. The new version contains the same Medium detail tiles from the prior version, but also contains a new set of Low detail tiles, which are more reduced than what I'd released before. Unlike with the Medium detail tiles, I decided to wait until I was completely finished before releasing a version with the Low detail tiles, so there will not be any more versions. It's safe to
Please. I hope in one of the future expansions/versions/etc. You will incorporate some sort of Hall of Fame, or score keeping system. I know this has been brought up before but I think it needs to be added in.
That would be the closest we'll get to multiplayer, after all.
Ascian is a cat. It doesn't actually throw the knives. It's just Photoshop.
Every time your program closes for whatever reason, Steam tries to synchronize your newly updated save games on your computer with the cloud saves by uploading the ones on your computer. Since it can take a while, it won't be done by the time you try to relaunch. If you relaunch and it gives the option to Play Game, use that. If it asks which saves to use, you want to use your local saves. The only time you'd want to choose cloud saves is if you'd
I am okay with this.
There are actually a few ranged weapons that do not have an initiative penalty. The Haunter's Staff was converted to a ranged weapon but no initiative penalty was added. There's another staff that was converted, too. And there were a few ranged weapons that didn't have them before, either. Although, all of them come from questing and killing monsters. If I'm trying to level a low-level champion, I'll put it with some strong units and give it
I vote oversight. I have the no-refund part in my list of minor bugs. I didn't know it would allow you to double-click to build something you don't have the resources for, though.
Most likely the path-finding is trying to avoid the forest squares even though the roads make them the same movement cost.
The red path goes through more forest than the green path. There is no logic in the pathing AI's decision. Strategic pathfinding is sometimes downright bonkers. I've seen units leave a city, move a few squares, and then route back through that same city. They could have just left the city there!
No, I did that. I pasted into Paint. You might note that I already stated that a Print Screen screencap would be in the clipboard. Tried many times, got all sorts of things except what I wanted. I gave up when it started pasting screenshots of Paint. I was like "Why is this pasting Paint into Paint? I wasn't even in that." I'm running Windows 7. I did get a couple of screenshots of the loading screen, but it had the alt-tab bar in the mi
More changes, additions, one removal (spell of making's casting time was in there twice), and now... categories! I finally bothered to organize the list, which should make it easier for people to contribute. I haven't updated the mod yet. I'd like there to be more player-facing changes before updating the mod. I'm really just mentioning this with the hopes that other people will have ideas of what to add. You don't have to actually write it. &
I agree. I don't know why it's a pop-up instead of an item in the Event Log. You really need to go through the Event Log in this game. Giving a pop-up trains people to expect to be notified in a more intrusive manner, which is detracts from the Event Log. Ignore the Event Log, and you'll miss a lot of things. Also, as Nakisisa said, clicking Go To will start to head there, but then will go somewhere else because Go To has ADOS and will just go somewhe
You don't even need 60 FPS for this game, really. I've got it capped at 17 FPS (which I've found to be the lowest you can set it to before it becomes hard to look at). Can't imagine why you'd want to run it at 120 Hz. I mean, you could do stereoscopic 3D, but why? This isn't the sort of game you'd want that for.
I have verified that the above method for taking screenshots does not work. You might have a screencap program installed. Either that, or you're not doing it during a load screen. The game itself will take screenshots with the Print Screen button, just not during loading screens. On a side note about screenshots: In Windows, Print Screen will take a screenshot of your entire desktop and put it into your clipboard. Alt + Print Screen will only take the
I was mostly waiting for it to feel a bit more complete. I felt there were some important things I was leaving out. When someone was asking about what "materials" were, I realized what it was missing, and upon adding that I felt it was good enough to release. I still want to add a few things to it, but I don't know what they are yet.
I think that the Defender is the clear loser here.
1) Yes. I don't think there are any mods my mod would be incompatible with (although if they change the gameplay mechanics, some of the tips I provide might be less than accurate). 2) Not that I'm aware of. It would be nice, though, if it wouldn't go to the game screen until it was actually finished loading everything. One thing that might help, though, is playing on a larger map, which would increase load times.
Flagyl, your post gave me a few more items to put on my Loading Screen Tips mod. You might want to get it, as it will help you understand and discover a bunch of things about the game when you're loading games. https://forums.elementalgame.com/447335 Do note that, once you've installed it, you won't see the new tips when you're loading a game that was started before installing it. That's just
I've made a few more changes and additions, and I've uploaded it as a mod to the Nexus. http://fallenenchantress.nexusmods.com/mods/1876/? Unfortunately the game doesn't allow me to take screencaps during loading, and I don't have a separate screencap program (nor do I want to install one), so if someone could... you know...
I'd also like to take a stab at making a clearer tech-trading post. I'm going to ignore what others have posted so far, so this will be a bit redundant (except merlinme's example, which I'm stealing): Your cities each produce a certain number of Research Points (RP) each turn (it's a decimal value, although usually you only see the whole value displayed). These RP are put towards whatever technology you're currently
I was updating fallenenchantresswiki.com for a short while, but it's so unbearably slow. Sometimes it would take 5 minutes just to submit a change. I gave up shortly after LH was announced, because I figured anything I changed would become outdated soon, anyway. I tried to go back recently and update it, but it's still too slow. I get bored at work. The only reason I can think of to demolish a forest is if your faction isn't Master Scouts and you wa
Aside from specialty units (pioneers, henchmen, catapults, etc), I only train custom-designed units.
1 & 4. I play on Insane/Insane, and of all my runs, no class came close to the power level of the Assassin. Nature's Cloak (Rank 1 Earth Enchantment) takes care of most of the magic damage. I think I had her at 150 dodge around level 20. I was taking down 900+ HP armies with just my sovereign. Granted, you have to look at their accuracy before taking them on. I went up against one army, and all the troops had over 200 accuracy. Needless to say,
Conquered an enemy city and found that there were two enemy heroes (just previously defeated) sitting slap bang in the middle of my 'new' city's town square. I've seen the same with caravans. Doesn't seem right, somehow, particularly with the heroes. At least they did not flip the city ownership.
I've seen that as well. When I s
