Are some of the compatability problems from 1.05 going to be solved in the next release? I have to run 1.03 right now. I'm pretty sure the newest driver for my monitor is the problem, because I'm pretty sure I didn't have any problems until I installed it. The monitor is a Viewsonic P75f+.

I was using IE, but I just got a DirectTV Tivo so I can watch The Screensavers every night and IE started reminding me too much of Swiss cheese, so at the moment I'm using Firefox 0.9.1. But I'm thinking of giving Opera a look. As a note- I replaced Outlook Express with Thunderbird while I was at it.

While not many people will be of the rank to sell skins on the site, I think it kind of defeats the purpose of those of us who have subscribed to the site in order to support it. Maybe some of the subscription proceeds should go to these excellent skinners to do "member's only" works and maybe get more subscribers??? Have a nice vacation !!!!! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/

I want to create an icon package (for my personal use) that has parts from several of the different packages on the site and I don't realy want to have to keep 30 icon packages on my drive to get to the different icons. I'd like to just pull out the ones that are the best (in my humble opinion).

I converted 3 DX objects (Killer Media, Email and Alarm) into widgets and they worked fine. I put shotcuts to them in my startup folder and when I restarted DXwidget.exe crashed. After that happened I can't load anything in DX without DesktopX.exe crashing. I uninstalled EVERY Stardock program from my system, cleaned my registry with Norton to remove any old references and then re-installed everything. DesktopX.exe still crashes every time. Could it have damaged a Windows component and t

I haven't skinned any for sysmetrix (because I have no artistic talent ), but I've become very good at modifying skins to my personal taste. The easiest thing to do is actually just look at the theme folders for a couple of skins you like to see how they lay it out. Change the button colors to find out which one is which state, that kind of thing. Some stuff is explained in the documentation. It's act

It depends on how the skin was created on how you have to get rid of it. Some people make the bin part of the background, others a dual-state or interactive button and text. If it's part of the background, all you can do is edit it out ( which you don't want to mess with). If it is a button, you can simply it from the theme, but the space for it in the background will still be there. You can either use this space for other info or...... you're back to having to edit the background to remove

Downloaded GIMP. I'll erase PSP Painter and Photoshop tonight You're right Dethnite, I didn't get it from Kazaa or something, but getting it from my brother isn't any different. I saw GIMP supports photoshop plug-ins, where do you buy/get them? And what are some good ones?

I haven't heard of GIMP. Where do I get it? (Dumb question, I'll do a search) If I can get a free program I'll use it and erase the copies my brother gave me. [Message Edited]

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm not that good with the art programs yet, haven't had them long, and I don't have the manuals. My brother gave me copies of them from his girlfriend. Being on disability I couldn't afford to buy all of them. I'm going to buy how-to books soon. I haven't really tried wallpapers because most of them seem to be done in Bryce or the like which 1) I don't have and 2) from what I've seen is kind of hard to get the hang of. I've tried messing with SkinSt

I was wondering if there was anyone out there with the patience and willingness to help me learn how to skin, create png files, etc. I have the tools (Corel Painter 8, Photoshop 7, And Paint Shop Pro 8), but not the know-how and was hoping someone could give advice, help, and answer the occasional dumb question. The tutorials just aren't quite cutting it for me. I'm on disability and am home 24/7, and would really like to take up skinning as a hobby. So far the only thing I've really

You guys are doing great!!! The unfortunate problems that have happened lately convinced me to get myself a WC subscription for Christmas ( a little early ). You guys should start a drive to encourage people to subscribe. I had never really considered how much of a difference subscribing could make, I sort of thought it was for the hard-core skinners. This is a great site, and I think everyone would
