@ GFireflyE : On a green tactical map the difference is also pretty big. @ Tattyhat : I simply copied the file and it worked (even from save games). I don't have a clue why it doesn't work for you. Modded: <

I put a lot of effort and thought into this GOTM (much more so than the previous) one. In my third try I finally finished it in 79 turns. I tried a couple of different strategies but in the end I settled on something similar to how Trojasmic played, but with a few twists: SPOILERS
-I Used Magnar to summon skeletal hordes (and single skeletons) and casted cull the weak on them for free mana. -I also casted cull the weak on a number of slav
I think a +1 Fire Attack ring on a Sov adds to both his Sword-attacks and his Fire staff-attacks?
Correct. Note that you can check this easily in-game. Select a unit and hover your mouse above the attack icon, text or value. You will see a tooltip with detailed information abouth the attack values. If you wield a regular sword with the fire ring you should see +1 fire attack in the tooltip, as well as the pysical attack va
Very Nice, another GOTM! (+1 Karma for you, Trojasmic) The change to a different faction, victory condition, difficulty level and a map that feels completely different to GOTM1 are appreciated. It's a bit painful to admit but I just resigned my first serious try. I guess I underestimated the challenge. My whole strategy was based around defeating the ogres at turn 85 (I was already very well prepared for the end fight) but the ogres fight was way tougher than I rememb
Yes, I made both Procipinee and my first champion a commander. I first took Road Building with one of them and after that I focused on Lore for both. I noticed that in your endgame screenshots Procipinee has artifacts. Although I played very sloppy at the end, I did sell and trade everything I had in exchange for money, which I then used to rush buy (a couple of turns worth of) the towers. I don't know if it was necessary but I also voluntarily payed tribute to my ne
So I finished it. I used no exploits, but had some knowledge of the map because of 2 short previous tries. I also reloaded around 40 times in total. Most of the reloads I used in the beginning to get a very powerful start. I finished researching Book of mastery at turn 96, and finished the scenario at turn 122. The Good: I very quickly settled a couple of cities on good locations. I beelined to the tech which allows tech treaties. I think
How do you guys play challenges like this? Do you save/reload? And if so how much? Normally I play ironmode (no save/reload allowed), where the goal is to win the game, and it doesn't matter at all how long it takes. For a challenge like this where the goal is to win as quickly as possible, I need to remove any safety cushions in my play. But if I do that, I feel that the game becomes too much luck dependant. If I would play the savegame five times in iron mode, I believe

This is a known bug, that I have reported some time ago. It should be fixed in the next version. See https://forums.elementalgame.com/447670 for more details.
Good job on the nice video and very clear explanation. I had some trouble in getting it to work because of the speed of my pc and me clicking too slow. By running some cpu hungry background programs I was able to get the results that I wanted though. I am aware that exploiting this bug may lead to bugs, but I am also excited to be able to play the game in a completely new way.
Derek, Thank you for explaining your point of view. Unfortunately you have not addressed the "not enough content" in the loot pack critique that many (me included) have expressed. What is your take on that? As for the cursed items: the only redeeming quality of the blood items is the artifact that negates the large negatives. Without it, the blood items are just useless, and indeed will be detrimental to the player because they may be spawned instead of more useful artefacts.
I fully understand the OP's frustration. I cannot comment on if/how much the AI cheats at challenging difficulty, but I experienced the same on the highest difficulty levels, and at first it infuriated me just the same. Since then I have come to accept it, after realizing that the AI is pretty dumb and simply needs cheats like this to be competative. Note that I accepted this even before I read that these kinds of cheating are indeed intended on higher difficulty levels.
When I read the contents of the loot pack I already was a bit sceptical about its value. I decided to buy it nonetheless because I want to support the game. Having played with the new dlc, I must say that I find it disappointing and totally not worth the money. I find the number of new artifacts much too low, and there aren't any that make me go 'wow'. I very much liked the previous 2 DLC's but the loot pack is very poor in my opinion.
I just completed the Solo-sovereign variation in ironman mode. I played Anthys map with one Hard AI opponent. It was an interesting game but with a good tailor made custom faction and sovereign it's actually easier than you may expect.
I love your Idea, Darxim ! My first try was both a success and failure. I carefully designed a custom faction and sovereign for this challenge. I played versus 1 easy AI opponent which was killed after just 5 or 6 turns by I guess the neutral monsters. [e digicons]8C[/e] I won the game but lost the challenge... Parrottmath , your suggestion of changing AIPriority from -1 to 0 could very well be the solution. I just looked in the game data XML files and noticed that Ineluctable vision is the only spell/ability with AIPriority set to -1, whereas there are many with value set to 0. With this information and especially the savegame I would think that the developers
I have experienced this bug twice. Both times I noticed that the CPU was very busy when I selected the first trait. This is pure speculation on my part, but I think that the game did not have time to process the first trait selection before the second appears. Since then I always wait with the selection of traits if I think the CPU is very busy. This workaround seems to help me.
I get this bug every single game that I play. But this time I have kept a savegame just before it happens. I uploaded it at https://www.dropbox.com/s/0tzddfl4ba7loqz/Bug%20Strategical%20Map%20Visible.EleSav Simply load the game and hit end turn to reproduce the problem.
The problem still exists in the official L.H. 1.3 release. I Played a completely new game and again the same thing happened...
Without any reason the strategical map has suddenly become completely visible, and has been like that for a couple of turns. I suspect the new Ineluctable Vision spell has something to do with it. But I certainly didn't cast the spell since I did not finish researching Third book of the Magi yet. Also I don't have any allies or such who perhaps have cast it. EDIT: The problem still exists in the official L.H. 1.3 release. I Played a completely new game and
Having Tarth cities get attacked is working as designed... but the units are not supposed to get attacked.
You are correct, it seems to be working as intended in that respect. In that case I don't think stealth is worth 2 trait points, but that off course is a different matter...
I categorize fallen enchantress as a strategy game. And a strategy game should never ever punish you for good play and be lenient towards bad play. Because if it does, it basically doesn't matter what you do, you'll get at the same position after x time anyway. So you may as well not play at all, your decisions don't matter anyway...
I haven't tried it in 1.20 but I can confirm that the same thing happened in version 1.12. After having 2 villages been razed by independant monsters in just a couple of turns I rage-quited and never used a stealth faction since then. I agree that this is something that should be fixed.
I have been critical about the 30 population design choice and wanted to direct focus to making tall strategies more competative (before the 1.2 release I already wrote about this). It is good to see that others are voicing similar concerns. The change in 1.2 made me built more towns and inns (which I previously almost never built), so I guess it was not all just bad... I agree with webusver that wealthy and especially adventurer are way too strong compared to the altern
