One of the basic problems with AI is that the longer you play, the easier it gets... Until a new version comes and Frogboy has improved it, of course. I have already gotten to the point where I win (with some problems) vs Ridiculous, and where Changelling gets just silly. By the late game, the game is won and it is all just turns over turns of making it happen completely. But it is true the way war go is a little strange. In my last game (custom faction-all ridiculous, resources sparc

If I'm not mistaken, the Fallen Enchantress makes reference to Ceresa, the Oracle and leader of the Wraith race. The story of how she became the fallen enchantress is part of the 1st game's campaign :)
Well, that solves everything! Did not knew I could stamp things in cartographer... Must admit I don't use it much (found it a bit unintuitive...particularly when trying to paint rivers). :P Thank you, Heavenfall.
I have a little question somewhat related to the water issue. I am trying to get a particular stamp to appear always for the sake of one game. I am trying to make a kind of "random campaign" with the Angels and a few human kingdoms vs. Insane Undead, and I wanted the angels to start in the Ilu'Tsavar or whatever its name is. So, my problem is.... The god-dammed tile never appears! So the question is: is there a way to make a tile appear in every randomly-generated map?
Darxin, I love you and I want to marry you and live forever together in a cottage. Now seriusly, many thanks. I suspect this might be really helpful (now I'm in Germany and it improves, but in the Spanish summer, I ended up using ice :S) Edit a little later: Ugh, apparently I actually have an ATI Mobility or something like that (took me a bit to figure out, lol). Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, will keep on looking... All Hail Google!
I am going to check if they are indeed giving the discounts in amazon.... Because I live in a different country from where my card was issued and am discovergin the shitty restrictions that brings for steam. However, they do not seem to be matching everything. I was curious about Heroes VI (a little more out of nostalgia for my teenage years that because I really trust it to be good) and, hell, for 10 euros... But in amazon they only have for 10 euros the normal version, not the
I was absolutely looking for this! My computer is supposedly not too bad (a one year-old VAIO), but it got hell-like after half an hour of LH. Not to speak of the noise. Many thanks, I'm trying it right now!
Many thanks, that was helpful!
Haunter armies are... Well, a threat. If you haven't got good ini and good movement, the haunter himself can turn you to shreds . A good mass curse makes for really painful hits from the rest of creatures :S As for shrills, I actually hate fire and air the most. Water and earth are just a matter of slowly engaging and managing your weak units (taking them away before they die, etc); but fire can hurt a lot and air is definitely awful when you still have weak units. I
So, magic resist only affect damage of magical sources and helps nothing against spell effects? Just curious, because I also do not understand the mechanics very well.
Looks fantastic! I personally like the idea of sacrificing the human/fallen heroes to gain the loyalty of another of the crazy-lizzard guys, but that is just a personal prefference. As a side note, I am working (slowly but surely) in a city-model basen on the ideas of swamp and ruins. I wanted it in order to substitute the Empire buildings for Krax (their buildings seem a little too barbaric) and perhaps some custom factions. Nevertheless, I think it would be perfect fo
I am very glad that this mod has been redone for LH: it was one of those I can't play without! (Much like Stormworld). Now that you are also adding even more traits and factions (the bandits one seems really cool), I have more reasons to love it. As to Naidrev 's comment: Protective : All city types can build Hedge Walls. Outposts create fences around any structure they are built next to.
The idea sounds good, although it might be a bit too slow and complex... But I'm all for the wall thing! It would allow a good dimension that is kind of difficult to get (unless you have a very, very narrow passage it is very difficult to do precisely that).
Ohm. I see what you mean by that. It sounds quite cool too but... I don't know, it overlaps a little with Capitar (they too are called Merchantlords). Which is ok, but your mod (to me, at least) is up to include pretty original factions and this one, while original in the mechanics, wouldn't be so much in regards of the lore. Add to that how Capitar would actually have many of those mechanics (particularly the one of being neutral) if they had been able to include it during developmen
The only problem I see on the idea of the Dogs of War is that they are mixing two things: on the one hand the being merchants/money producers; on the other, being mercenaries. The idea of gold reducing unrest is great for a mercenary city; as is No Common Ground. But Legacy of Serrane, Masters of Economy and Masters of Trade I don't see as fitting (as a matter of fact, it seems to overlap with the dear Mancers...). In my mind, it would mean that they are a civilization that tends to creat
You can only get new spelltraits that you don't have, and that includes levels. So, if you're 2 water and kill someone with 3, you will get it; but not if the hero has 1 water. All in all, I like it. It is a good way of getting rid of excessive heroes...
I had really never heard those stadistics (particularly about crime being higher in Europe). Would you mind linking your sources? I would like to check it, it seems quite curious. Even though, I still think that there is an important difference: crimes without guns have less probability of being mortal. Attacks by crazy people without easy access to guns have less probability of leaving corpses laying arround. I insist: just check the case of the crazy guy in China. Making it ha
quick, tell obama another mentally ill person used a gun to harm some. those darn evil guns have a conspiracy to turn every law-abiding, legal gun owner into a mass-murderer. best get those guns banned instead of fixing the mental health system, then we'll wait for the mentally ill to do what they do in China -use knives to kill dozens of kids. Well, it might be me, but last time I checked, the different between
Uhm. I am sure the problem is video games and not how there was a gun in a place with kids (not that there should be any in places only with adults).
I think in terms of replayability, I would also go for Skyrim. It sucks as far as plot is concerned, but it is SO easy to get lost just mumbling to yourself and wandering the mountains... I have never tried Kotor...
This would be a really good idea, if it was possible :) Second!
I would have real troubles for chosing only one... But I think I'd give the medal to BG II. Not because it is absolutely the best (Torment is, from my point of view, as awesome... a bit more), but because it was the first RPG I played as a boy and I played, and played, and played... I can remember almost every single quest still XD So, that would be my choice. Now, in the bunch of RPGs I have enjoyed after BGII, I would definitely have: Vampire Masquerade: a
I suspect it is the same problem that with stealth: the monsters are not attacking. They are just walking carelessly and step on your caravan! It seems that, even if the monster does not see you, if he walks randomly in the position of your unit it still starts a fight. It sucks, but I am not sure it has an easy solution :S
Well, I can't wait for getting LH! It really looks awesome (and the mountains seem vastly improved!). The thing I like the most? Changes on heroes and leveling. No more having to have a tanky hero despite me wanting to play all mages. No more having to choose a hero I find ugly (yeah, I sometimes chose on aesthetic grounds: I hate Urxen)... But, above all: finally being able to make real choices when leveling up! Those are things I really, really love. The new changes on t
Well, I am not a modder dealing with code and the such, so my needs are a little bit simple and related to the Builder's Forge. 1- Shortcuts. Something so simple as being able to copy and paste an object (retaining the same properties of scale and position in the different axis) would be really cool and save me a lot of time. I have tried ctrl-c and ctrl-v, but I suspect that, if it exists, it is a little bit more complicated. 2- Favour
