catapults don't really fit. they're too lategame, and by the time they exist they don't really have much of a niche. Earlier catapults are needed On a related note, the strike garrison is stupid and needs to be removed from the game. i'd rather not consider any ranged unit's merits based on using that or not.

i don't agree with most people's assessment of pariden. their spellbooks are hugely advantageous, and their ability to summon outposts for a mere 50 mana is incredible. Their staffs also make decent early/mid units, and you can get some nice initiative bonuses from stacking air mana. Altar are the best by far though

Another issue to add on the broken pile that is henchmen >.> I definitely agree, i want prettier henchpeople too ^.^ While they're at it, remove the preset face for them. It's annoying that they always have gruffy looking stubble and absolutely cannot be clean shaven. Also the name needs changed to something less gender specific. Like "Lieutenants" or "Officers"

you don't need to know the exact math to understand it. Consider the theory: Time is money. The amount of time a building will take, is a product of the cost of the building, and the industrial output of the city making it. When buying things, your primary goal is simply to "buy time". Specifically, to buy as much time as possible, for as little money as possible. This means there are several ways to prioritise your buying: 1. Buy more often in low-productio

No it's not absurd. In fact, it was frankly underwhelming to me. Did you notice the "Epic" difficulty level the quest is tagged with? This means "Stay the hell away unless you have an endgame army" I went in there with four powerful champions (lv20+), three units of second-level ice-staff mages, and two units of full platemail armoured footsoldiers with tower shields and athican longswords. I won the battle pretty easily actually, my footsoldiers got inciner

i do think bless city is a bit too expensive, but i can see the reasoning. without a prohibitively expensive cost, it might become the Conqueror's Best Friend, allowing you to even-more-easily steamroll your enemies and instantly subjugate captured cities with a single spell

I'm trying an experiment. I picked Yithril, gave my soverign a shortsword and gauntlets of grazna, and set out questing on turn 2. I set all the AIs on "Hard" difficulty After a short while i got ahold of a warding kite shield, a champion to accompany me (i took her poison dagger), unit of panca archers, and a sand golem. With this motley crew of 4 units, i went on a warpath, declaring war on everyone i met and invading them immediately. It's now turn 41. I have

the problem with magic scrolls is that nobody will use or look at them if they're too much of an investment. i'd vote on weakening the spell, rather than increasing the gold cost, imo
However, you can take advantage of this to give him extra accessory bonuses so go to town on it.
Are you saying you can exploit this to equip 8 accessories on a henchman? that would be pretty overpowered. As if henchmen weren't broken enough already :p

hmm, i don't like this behaviour at all. What's the problem with being able to sell things anyway? sell prices are so low it'd be practically worthless, and you DID pay the labour cost to make those weapons in the first place. More valuable weapons take a higher labour cost to produce.

it would be nice if the diplomatic AI was more considerate in general. Like when one of my cities is annihilated by a rampaging wild juggernaut, and my altarian "allies" move in a sneaky pioneer 2 turns after the city is gone. Or when a peaceful neighbor shoves outposts into tiny spaces between my cities, blocking a road tile and stealing a warg den In general i don't see alot of point in alliances or peace. The AI still behaves aggressively and doesn't respect y
Quoting willie sanderson, reply 9 Just make it where the AI AUTOMATICALLY heals all wounds after a certain amount of time. (On higher difficulties of course) No cheating.
agreed! i want to see the ai powerful enough to win while using the same rules as the player. The objective in improving it should be to replace cheats, with intelligent use of game mechanics.

nine units, with all the armysize boosting techs. an individual unit can be anywhere from 1-7 beings, depending on what type it is. eg, dragons and champions are a one-person unit, but normal troops come in larger numbers so technically the largest army you can have is 63 people
(hmm, is it just that fear got nerfed? It used to stop you from acting completely ... not to mention the fact that it was him (riding on an ashwake of course) acompanied by 4 or 5 other ashwake dragons. and ALL could cast fear (and they did quite often). Usually my army would die before I could even move ... lol.
well that sounds a bit much. killing him before he can move, or dying before you can move, either w

he is far, far far too weak. The first time i got to him i nearly cried at how easy it was :( i killed him in 3 hits. i actually stood around skipping a few turns to give him a few chances, in hope that he might pull off something spectacular, but he never did. He needs at least 20 times his current HP value. seriously, it should be a long and epic struggle. i'm not sure what else he can do, but a lot more initiative, and the impulsive trait, would help him to do so

In the diplomacy menu, things on the left side are things that you are offering. things on the right side are things the enemy is offering. "Offer surrender" means you are placing an offer of your surrender on the table. You are the one giving up. For the enemy to surrender, there's a "Demand surrender" option. which makes them surrender if they accept it. they very very very rarely do this. i once managed to make magnar surrender, aft

it's a worthless spell. the casting time kills it. To add to that, 25% isn't enough of a boost, it should be 50% imo At the very least, it needs to be an instant spell. When a mage can usually instakill an enemy with their first turn, or sometimes even wipe out an army, delaying for a turn to boost your magic is not worth it. Combat in this game is just too fast for most status effecting spells to be worthwhile, except things like slow/haste. Everything
You just got 1.01 and now you're wanting 1.02? Geesh isn't anybody ever happy with what they have.
to be fair it is still a fairly buggy game. most people won't be happy with what they have, if what they have is incomplete. There's a substantial list of issues still needing fixed. it's still an awesome game though ^^ buggy or not, i'm playing 1.01 right now

I think this is unquestionably right. There already is a restriction on your numbers of summons - the mana upkeep. As long as a summon doesn't have free upkeep, you should be able to summon n creatures, as many as you can sustain the mana for. The actual summoning of the creature should have a significant manacost too, so there's some penalty to replacing dead ones. If you're going to focus on summoning, you should be able to have your soverign wandering around with

i'm not sure unrest is enough of a penalty. even with unrest you still produce gold in normal amounts, and can buy troops and buildings. i find unrest isn't hugely relevant to me, as i can do most of my development through sheer investment. trade and economic treaties with every faction, most of my settlements being towns, and filling them with merchants/markets, and casting the propaganda spell everywhere. who needs production ^^

right now i have a world which contains three "Arena of Slakhanan", and they're not even that far away from each other. The epicness and awesomeness of this quest is rather diluted when you find duplicates of it :/ clearly there aren't enough epic quests in the world to go around.

it would be nice. I spent my first 20 or so battles being completely unable to scroll the game, as i hadn't figured out the clickdrag method. Whenever an enemy walked offscreen, i assumed the game had bugged out, and i'd just hit the autoresolve button to finish the battle.
