[quote who="mqpiffle" reply="13" id="3515540"] If a solution can't be found within the current paradigm, I would prefer non-simultaneous turns to avoid issues like this. As it is, the AI gets a noticable advantage, especially on higher world difficulty levels and dense monsters setting, wherein the human has a lot more trouble clearing the landscape of monsters and the AI simply avoids them. The AI can even settle directly adjacent to lairs containing much more powerful m

I have this spell now, and have tried casting it a few times in a few different places, and so far nothing has happened. I get the animation/sound that the spell is being cast, but nothing changes that turn or within a few turns past the casting. Where do I cast it? I expected to see fertile land appear so that I can settle a new city.
Good to know. Thank you.
Okay, thanks for the explanation. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some functionality of the shards. So they do not accumulate turn-to-turn, nor are they used up in spell casting. They are simply a total number of shards held by a faction. I guess in one sense, to a player, per-turn makes sense when you upgrade the altars (which I have not done yet in my game even), which I assume will eventually yield more than one shard each. The
I understand that I can create altars and shrines, and I see the total of my shards in the upper right corner of the UI. But what is meant by "shards per turn?" I realize that shards enhance the power of spells, but I don't see a collection total like I do with metal and crystal. If I am gaining shards per turn, shouldn't there be storage of these shards? And I don't see that each turn I might have 3 fire shards, but they are used up whenever a champion casts a f
Okay, good to know at least. I'll stop looking for it in the UI. ;)
I just gained "group" from researching Cooperation. Is there some way to increase my already-trained units' size from three to four?
Got it, thanks!
What reason do I have to clear forests? There is no mention in the manual (no search results for forest or tree other than "tech tree"). Do I gain production? Do I gain space for buildings? Seems like when I build something new, the trees are cleared automatically to make room. What is the purpose of this function? Thanks!
I don't know if spells can critical, but if so, is the critical hit chance only for physical attacks? The manual doesn't say. It refers to physical attacks in other descriptions, but not for this one. Thanks!
