Make Crushing Blow double damage *AFTER* armor check. That should fix it nicely. And if you think just CB is bad, try Tarthans Double Strike AND Crushing Blow... Insanely OP. Some shared CD for these on the units only should probably fix it though. Oh and btw to everyone saying "only get 4 essence fortress and you win", up your difficulty. I modded a 5 essence fortress, and got my ass handed to me by Tarthan mages. Seen a full 9 army with 4 mages death squads
2. Material - The race for arms was heavily dependent upon materials. Hence when bronze short swords were met with iron swords the bronze ones shattered and many battles were won by superior materials. 3. Skill - Compare the amount of damage a student swordsman can do compared to a master swordsman with the same weapon, it is a night and day comparison.
Just a couple of

(quote #1) I could have used that spell, Eternal Summer, or whatever it's called, that allows you to transform the terrain, but I needed all the mana I could accumulate to fight monsters and level up my sovereign. Here is your problem. First get the manual select improvement placement on your menu. Snake that city in a direction, and when you reach 4+ tiles from your city you should start seeing more city sites. (usually just grain+materials, but if you are city starved t

Focus on food as in building those improvements first? No. You only get 3 growth from food max and it will decline as population grows. No point in getting those improvements until you need them. (remember you use population for pioneers early on, so it will be very slow in the start) A high food tile is good for spamming pioneers, not becoming a big city quick. Focus on food as in reaching city levels as soon as possible, yes. Use consulates(outpost improvement), spells and Wil

Hmm. No way to remove the old lines there? I thought it wasn't working because I still saw the old messages (my modification comes after). As I mentioned I copied the entrance from enchanters in CoreAbilities.xml, and put it into my own file. (I want it to be easier to see what I do etc. without having to look at the source all the time) I did a workaround with the Scrying Pool building (made the old building impossible to make first and made a new), do I need to do someth

Polish question, where do I fix the tooltip for the customizing Faction traits? I removed Scrying pool from Enchanters and gave them a Warding Kite Shield instead, since picking enchanters was a no brainer every time. It works fine but the tooltip when hovering still says the old line instead of the new I made. (made a duplicate of the old in a new XML file btw if that matters)

So in my last game in LH ( awesome game btw ), the number one (and only) reason for me reloading stuff, is Yithril (why only Yithril?) instarazing high level cities while I don't notice them creeping up on me. And yes I don't care when the cities razed are at lvl 1 or below, but i nstarazing lvl 3+ cities? That really should take more time. The "alert" thingie isn't work

They are very important to countering high difficulty AI stacks. Of course if the game is easy you can easily skip stuff like this, but it starts to matter when you need that extra damage or armor. It's a bit confusing, so removing it from the city building queue, and just make it a fixed gold upgrade (which is how I use it anyways) would do wonders. Add some more graphical effects for the upgrades and it will be awesome. (making you see that highway you made etc.)</

#1 Sounds strange. Wait and check again next turn. If it still shows 0 growth and the same amount of food, report it as a bug. #2 Go for new cities asap yes. But to get those cities up you might need army, or good sovereigns/heroes first. It's a decision depending on the map. #3 Usually you are fine if you clear out stuff around your cities before settling. Easy lairs can be beat with only default defenders, but stronger ones need to be cleared first. You'll learn the

Since Lairs seems to be more relevant and important now, what about making them have their own ZoC? (Mini Wildlands) That means you can't build stuff next to them, and if it overlaps with any outposts etc. they still keep it 1 square around them. (by default, dragons etc. could have bigger ones) I think that would solve lots of stupid stuff the AI does, and give a more predictable game. It would also make it possible to design maps where you need to clear lairs to get resources et

Or you could make the spell resist skills actually useful on armies, and maybe add a couple of more? (the 4th or 5th conclave level should have some sort of level scaling etc. +10 Spell Resist is nothing) Lets try improving stuff that isn't viable enough before nerfing everything okay? ;)

Testing it, and my starting positions seems worse than before. (decent food/production or good essence, not both) I really REALLY want you guys to implement some scaling regarding starts. Legendary Start was fricking awesome in CiV series, and something similar would be great in FE.

We need some more depth in unit designs I think. It's pretty obvious what is best most of the time, and your biggest concern is crystal vs iron spending. Double fire/cold +3 and double rings +1 is always the best bet when designing units and you have the crystal. I think some more depth regarding initiative, +hp pr lvl (get this away from gilden please) etc. and maybe some armor pr. lvl stuff would give more interesting unit designs.

Lets make a guide to how to play the early game guys? ;) So you are starting out and is confused wtf to do.. no worries, Sjaminei is here to help: #1; First, Essence is good , production is good. Food is? Meh... We'll deal with that later. Get that production and essence going. Settle where the production and essence is high. ( the blue stuff ) Yay. First city! Buil

I usually rely on my first champion and sovereign to tank damage yes. I don't "crank" out spearmen all the time, but I fill my stack with them as needed early on. Also you should get some extra army stuff from quests etc. (sand golems, panca archers++) The important thing is to keep clearing stuff for items, so your tanking champion gets high armor and hp. Monk's robe+Wargs helps a lot since dodge reduces damage pretty well and they are low in the tech tree. If you reall
