There is also the Decalon faction trait (available through custom factions, or Pariden), that lets you build arcane monoliths for 50 mana. They can be put on islands you see to grab those resources sooner.

Heh? I had no issues installing FE:LH on my laptop as well as my desktop. But yes, Steam/Steamapps/Common will be your path to the game annoyingly enough. That's why it isn't perfect ;)

You are forced to use Steam with LH. (no manual updates sorry ;) ) It could still be possible to get the FE original game Steam-free from Stardock still, but don't hold me on that. Either way Steam isn't *that* bad, and LH is the far superior game to FE, and you will get at least two DLC's soon for LH.

You should really expand it to all the slow champions to call it a mod. Tuatha (troll champion), the spider champion etc. could use this ability as well since they can't use mounts either. There could be more but those are the ones I remember ^^ Either way, good work, this is a good fix that everyone can benefit from.
Yes monks robe too. Sure a mage could do well too but I don't think he'd be walking around soloing epic stacks.
If the stack consists of AI units with 6+ members, he would kill them easily with Blizzard.

Basics: There seems to be a lot of confusion on how best to proceed with building your empire and competing with AI from a builder point of view. I have mostly been playing Huge maps exclusively, and I try to compete with AI with armies and specialized cities instead of just beefing up my Sovereign with Beastmaster and magery. So I will try to explain how to get your empire up as soon as possible to fight with them on equal grounds

Yeah this happens to me a lot as well. But it's fixed by reload, so I haven't been too bothered by it so far. (I think it crashes after autosave? so you pick up from where you left off) Think of it as "dirty tricks" from the AI. They can't beat you in the normal game, so they crash the game instead ;) On a more serious note, doesn't all crashes get logged with Stardock now after they ported the game to steam? That's why I haven't bothered reporting cras

So much indecentness in this thread. No DLC for any of you! ;) (oh, and no dinner either, go to your rooms and think about what you have done!)

I feel like there is way too much initiative and passive bonuses all over the place. Your general idea is good, but with fewer skills to choose from (remove 3-4 at least and merge/nerf passives), more dedicated specializing paths with some more active abilities this would be a really great mod. (think magic arrow, guardian strike with more damage etc. are all excellent possibilites)

Civilization techs is pretty much obligatory for any games. It contains growth, research, gildar and roads. So for me I usually start with a Civilization tech (Knowledge), then get Leatherworking for some early armor on leveling troops, and depending on resources I aim for a military tech in either Warfare or Magic. (You want either Lightning Hammers or the Weaponry hammer to boost your early damage) My games usually resolves around how much civilization teching can I get away w

#2 No they don't. You get stuck in an unwinnable game. At least that happened to me ages ago ;) (could be fixed now)
When replacing existing units like Champions, you have to use all the code anyway. If you only put in the code that's changed, you will get a basic unit with no portrait etc. This is code that works for me (only problem is you can Summon Mausolos as much as you want, but that's okay as I just wanted to see his stats):
Odd. Well guess it works differently from other objects then. I was thinking of making a file w

Shadow world spell is still in the game. It's a reward from a cave quest, so it's kinda rare to get. If you use quest maps a lot, you should get it eventually ;) You want tougher monsters? Up the monster slider... Ridicilous and Insane settings on monsters make them a lot harder to kill in the beginning, and they spam "children" a lot killing your cities etc. if you don't clear the camp somewhat soon.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone want a new staff weapon for trained troops? I could imagine some splash damage etc. at least could be added on a new weapon. (more costly obviously, I would give it a high crystal cost) It wouldn't be Conclave exclusive but it should be easy enough to add to the Arcane Weapons tech.

I think there is an endless possibility of pitfalls available for a mod guide, so starting from that point would be silly ;) Some modders tips thread would be more constructive from my point of view at least. ^^

You have at least 2 options. A sovereign/hero casting imba spells behind your assassin dodge tank or some mage/archer units dealing the damage. Both of them can deal the damage necessary. If you expect the assassin to deal the damage as well you better be using Blood Rage (Death5) or Destiny's Gift (really late magic tech) to increase his attack and attack speed.
This will not ensure that the unit is a champion if you do it this way. You need to create a spell that will summon a champion unit. The answer already lies within this thread. As to the random event, you need a city in order for a random event to trigger via a turn.
This thread is 13 pages long. Isn't it starting to be a bit much to ask for someone to read this entire thread for the answer? I search

That would work for every game after right? I'm thinking that it would need to be tied to the sovereign somehow to work right. (like instead of an ability it gets champion support instead) I guess I am asking too much and should try experimenting more instead ;)
