multiplayer in most 4x games is just a grunt rush with a different theme park hiding in the sandbox. for this reason i would not play multiplayer because it would not be very fun. multiplayer games are a whole different monster on every level. Some games are appropriate for multiplayer others arent. Some games are naturally not the best mix for multiplayer - i think FE is one of those games. When i think of a game geared to multiplayer, it takes into account a whole dif

I would say limit snaking to two tiles at most from the city which would allow some snaking - such as getting that logging camp or pier 1sqm from the city - which improves locations to settle quite a bit. I would rather have old Civ Call to Power roads - that is, i "buy road" then click each tile to manually build my road from point A to point B. Especially in a game like this. Wagons would be better because instead of using awkward paths randomly
I don't have the technical know-how of installing mods. I tried a few but i could not figure out how to put them in the exact right place, so i gave up. Hopefully in the future this aspect of gameplay will become more friendly. I had no such issues in Civ4 but Civ5 has this easy-button which has caused me to become stupider about how to do it myself.
My proposal to not allow cities to snake past 2 tiles of city tile itself allows come creative leeway to get that pier and logging camp that is ONE tile away, which makes starting locations better - without allowing snaked cities to "abuse" the map. Snaking should allow this leeway - without allowing a player to "run" their city into a straight line all over the place like some tetris shape. 2 tiles from capital is reasonable and it would not cause a rethinking of outpo
I have one complaint about the world map. I fear "pre placed boats" means maximum potential. I would like to see "Boats" as an item you purchase at the shop, which allows your unit to "embark". That would be amazing, especially if the world wrapped.
I would not play online because online 4x games always become the same lame gruntrush and i don't care to be forced to play like that.
the one annoyance i have is my own fault. I remember back when modding was hard and modding meant having 2-3 installs of your game on HD with different shortcuts to each one - recently, modding in most games became streamlined - just push a button and *POOF* mod is installed. FE takes us back to the days before one-click systems and i am having a hard time figuring out the whole thing. I look at the mod folder in /mygames and i am just lost - i wouldn't
I am lost in this file, i am trying to create the death/life transmutation for every shard. I want one "Earth", "Fire", "Water", "Air" elemental empire who transmutes elemental shards. I prefer to make the transmutation occur as a racial ability and not as a high level spell such as the Fire Walkers who transmute water spells to fire, and use both life and death shards. I would like to make any shard transmute into any shard type. For instance, i want an Elder Maji who hate elemental
I would rather the game spawn the quests, and monsters/lairs in stages. let the world start out with weaker monsters, then at the mid-game, new lairs are discovered and spawn across the non-settled areas of the map. Finally, at a third stage, many ancient and powerful denizens will awaken. I would also like to see "Evil Champions" who are killed respawn during stage 3 as zombies of some kind. The second wave would trigger new monsters to spa
The anthropology of gaming culture is a lot like the anthropology of band-fan culture. each brand (game or band) will generally want to appeal to as many as possible but demographics reveals that there is a method to why some people play fallen enchantress and others play halo. This is related to archetypal categories. Using these categories game companies can try to appeal to an audience who will respond to the product rather than just throwing random darts. Try going around promoting your f
The means of creating a scenario needs to be re-optimized. I envision a full campaign true to the genus of Final Fantasy Tactics and Suikoden Tactics. This can be done in a few ways: by having towns offer quests (which spawn at that time upon acceptance) and having champions spawn a quest to recruit instead of paying. Now, the low level champions you should be able to buy but the stronger ones you have to prove yourself to. Also, you might find a champion now who refuse
I say give it all time. Evolution from beta to now has been very progressive and most of the problems have been addressed. We still have some outright useless faction creation abilities and godzilla spawning near the capital. We also still have pacman with the champ stack vs armies. We even still have less than optimum starting positions (that is, the game does not do optimization of regions surrounding the player starting positions). Despite these flaws, Fallen Enchant
the cons of this proposal outweigh the good. How about instead limit the distance from the city square that buildings can be placed in? This allows you to get your pier or logging camp from one tile away (making locations one step better) and does not allow ridiculous straight line cities.
So, i am off in the wild lands, hovering over my heroes and a dangerous situation. I am attempting to cleanse them so i can settle another city when something good happens in a bad way. I am told to upgrade my city and i don't know where on the map my city is. This happens all the time, and i am sick of renaming my cities to "Conclave, Fortress, City" at the end of each name. The problem with this is that i have to do extra micromanagement that doe
I will never again buy a steam game because of their Orwellian policies. Every so often they come up to me and say "We are changing the terms of the deal you have with us and if you don't agree we will delete all of your games and you can't play anymore". Every time they update, it gets worse - before too long you will have to agree to let steam function as policeware or they will delete all of your games. This is more than a privacy issue or a trust issue, this is an issu
I do not know how to post screenshots. That said, my cloth map is black - it always is, and i do not know how your cloth map screenshots look so nice. mine looks like a black abyss with crayon drawings scrawled on it for terrains, cities and objects.
my cloth map is a big black abyss with hills and forests drawn in, how do i make it look like yours? when i ctrl+u i can see the nice cloth map but normally i can't...
in my recent experiences, i pick 3 pioneers, and use my starting hero (and recruited champ nearby) to expand quickly. within 50 turns i easily have 3-5 settlements. my custom sovereign has wealth, betrayers and the trait that gives free champ recruiting. my early build: buy pioneer to follow sovereign. build a second pioneer. in 2 turns, rush it and build militia. 2 turns build, then rush. pioneer. 2 turns build, rush. if
i was the one who attempted to give 12 creation points (to diversify custom civ's) and that seems to be correct. i will uninstall and reinstall clean to reset those numbers and try again.
The fix of deleting the contents of the screens folder did not work for me. I click my sovereign, click next, then on the world screen, i click next one more time and crash. edit - i sent the 2 files. and i do live in the us, great lakes region (northern indiana).

Is it possible to change the number of points a created character may invest in different areas? for example, start with 6 instead of 4. Is it possible to change how many points drawbacks give (and intensity of drawback)? For example, instead of -20 spell resist, -40 and +3 points. I am very new to this game and am like a lost puppy getting fragged in the first 50 turns. Is it possible to have a faction with say...&nbs
this is just absurd, i hate companies who build in annoyances and inferiority then sell upgrades - it's just like when a game comes out, and they pluck half the content up front then sell it as "bonus content". this method is pollution, social pollution. many forms of it exist, 5 different phones are released and there are 3 features. no phone has all 5. This model when applied to everything is a symptom of the biggest problems in our society - on
oh cool, so there IS a game company with ethics, nice to know! After some test driving, i have a lot to learn - i suck pretty bad. however it's a good thing and not a bad thing, as a first day newb, i SHOULD suck bad.
I have said before that most games these days are a 3 chapter book with each other chapter sold separately, and self destructs if you ever don't agree to new terms no matter what - the book just burns itself to ashes in your hands. Also, the book knows when you read it, how often you read it, and reports to the author every activity you do, it follows you around and gets angry when you read other books. Orwellian policies are common, and requiring constant internet renders a g
