I think the game should be shorter. High production costs are delaying the game without reason. Better to play short shining game, than overextended game. Else it leads to many unfinished games. 100-200 turns are enough for this game. It is more suitable for multiplayer. Production and research costs can be decreased to achieve this.

Some improvements have too large production cost. Also benefits from these improvements are not worth spending so much seasons for building them. For example, Brewery has 3748 production cost and gives additional +5 Food per Grain for the Empire. If some city has 30 production, that is not bad, it will build Brewery for 125 seasons. It is really worthless. In Civilization 5 the minimal production cost for usual buildings (not epic wonders) is 60, maximum is 650. So ra

Uselessness of trained units leads to uselessness of cities. Why do you need to develop economy? To build an army. If army is useless, ecomony is useless too. Now cities are only for mana income and for researching several technologies for champions.
I agree that trained units can't compete, but this is mostly due to easy monsters with too much XP. Heroes are leveling too fast, getting too powerful, killing too much. Trained units can't compete until much later in the game when they have groups and superior armor.
Trained units can't compete mostly because they are too weak in early game. For example, Defender unit at level 2 has the following parameters: 12

My Verga at level 6 in season 33 defeated all armies in Arena and gained level 8. It seems some skills and items are OP. I used hit and retreat strategy due to very high Initiative. Maybe Necromonger skill +10 Initiative is OP. Items that are maybe OP:

Wargs and Horses are now side by side, instead of consecutive. +All Fortress based training buildings now cost less to build. Barracks now reduces training cost by 35%.
As to Conclave, you might not be thinking of every situation. Conclaves get about double the research of Towns. Towns have double the growth of a Conclave. They can reach level 5 three times as fast as Conclaves and Fortresses. Their level 3, 4, and 5 choices are much more powerful too.
Now you can win in early-mid game (in expert difficulty). So in most cases no need in 4-5 levels of cities. Anyway success in mid game depends

It seems dragons are not improved in this mod. Also Verga combination: high Initiative + perfect Accuracy (100+) + Stun leads to Stun abusing. So Verga can defeat any powerful monster in early game. My Verga at level 4 defeated Slag level 10 in season 19. I used stun and retreat strategy. N evertheless Verga gained only one level with new XP system. Of course Verga is OP and Slag is too weak, but I feel it is too low XP for dragon. Here are screenshots: <p

City management is not fun for me. It is brainless and repetitive. There is no large variety of improvements. Most of the improvements are similar. They just give you more resources: production, growth, research, mana, etc. Also there are duplicates that give you the same resource. I would like more interesting improvements. Here are examples of interesting improvements: - allows to train creatures. More such improvements, please, especially in early-mid game. Recruiting ogres and tro
The problem now is not that they are useless, but the fact that the monsters are so tame. You dont have to defend yourself, but can walk around and level your heroes.
I think the trained units should be useful not only for defending but for attacking too. Balance should be between sovereigns, champions and trained units. It should be very hard to defeat the whole army of trained units with a single sovereign/champion.

Trained units are useless. Sovereigns/champions are much more versatile, strong and cheap, than trained units. In early-mid game you can't train useful units, because you haven't enough technologies and resources. Trained units lvling is poor. When trained units gain a level, they get more health and a bit accuracy. Health is useful for melee units, but ranged units need more attack rather than more health. Really all trained units need some attack bonus per level. Weapons and ar
The single monster kiting issue looks temporary to me. I think Frogboy implemented some grand changes and is probably now working on which situations need an exception. All large single unit monsters are currently moving at one space per turn, trying to get first strike. They should be moving at their max so that kiting is less possible. Good thing to bring this up though. I personally would like to see most dragonkind get at least +5 Initiative to h

I can defeat any monster when I have Freeze spell, range weapon and a horse. Recently I defeated a Storm Dragon (13 level) with only Karavox at level 4 in season 41. Karavox gained a level 9 after that battle. How I did it? Find a dragon. Research Mounted Warfare and Enchantment. Build outpost near the dragon. Buy an Ice Staff and a horse. Cast Freeze on the dragon. Attack the dragon. Run and shoot the dragon from safe distance.
