I think good games are based on hard player choices. The hard choices are what makes a game interesting, it's up to you to decide which way to take. If there are no choices, then the game gets IMHO less interesting and challenging. With this said, upgradeable units could be good if it was a difficult decision to make. If it was so expensive that 50% of players opted not to upgrade and the other half did - that would be g

I somehow visualized swarms of skeletons not three... Dunno why.
I tried but I found out I wasn't allowed it made me sad because it meant the fortress will take forever to reach level 5 due to the absence of river food despite one tile away xD
Yeah, I discovered this when I summoned Uterar's bear pet from a hero named Najran i think..? There was a unit that got hit by bash Then i had it attacked via bear pet. Oh. :O Unlucky for the enemy because that unit was high on armor and got killed. lol Maul hit for 3-10 damage each time xD It looks like it's working as intended to me.. So if you see an mixed ogre/bear or troll/bear army. :P Careful.
Btw, I had a game where My capital was just 20 tiles away from Vetrar at beginning of the game. I held my breath and played. It wandered away from my lands and into Kraxis' lands and terrorized them. And it looked like it was going to keep on wandering away and away so I sent three armies towards Vetrar and kited him back into his wildlands. Took me about 30 turns but vetrar is back in the snowy wildlands where he stayed put until I got a ashwake dragon pet to bring him down very early in
There's runaways in this game? I moved up to hard difficulty and I still haven't seen one.
If I could I would always ensure that my lord have a restoration ring every game. xD And compassion magic from Mage trait tree. Le sigh lol And have control of like 10 life shards. Yummers.
Honestly if the NPCs were to cast something like Curgen's volcano, even rarely.. you should have some method of at least having a chance to counter the spell? I realize you can do the conclave level 5 specialization bonus.. but other than that..?
There is a counter already, find the sovereign and kill him in battle. That will interrupt the casting process, and it takes 10 turns.
Quoting Ericridge, reply 5...But honestly I think your stack is bit too low on attack and hp department.. did you overstack with dragons?... It's just a sovereign/heros stack w/ the exception of one umberdroth, so yes it's a little low on att/hps, but that's not unexpected. Nice armies you have ; Kraxis is cheating in your game --> score.[/quo
Hahahah... I overwrite saves too much I had more epic sods but this is all taht's left of my saves xD But honestly I think your stack is bit too low on attack and hp department.. did you overstack with dragons? I'd take few seconds longer turn time as long as it means the AI vs AI battles isn't screwed up badly by simultaneous movements too.
The problem you are describing (AI creatures moving one tile) can be fixed by unlocking AI movement (It's locked at 1). I have a mod which unlocks AI creatures movement in stages (From 1 to 2, from 2 to 3, from 3 to 4, and from 4 to 5). It's called XtraMonsterMovement.
No, not that. I'm saying that the monsters target the tiles, not the enemy units. Because if they targeted the units inste
Here, I found out why AI is nigh untouchable by monsters. This happened last night where monsters was hyperaggressive for some reason, abandoning lairs to murder a hero or stuff, I was attacked so much.. way more than usual. It felt like monsters was out for blood for the first time after over 100 hours playing this game, I've had a ravenous spider army chase my low lvl army for like 20+ turns until I managed to kill enough low level armies to smash it with my healer when it
Yes, I had the privilege of Capitar tossing my armies around with tornado with me in awe because it was my first time seeing it. I was hit by it for five turns or more. Reform army? CAPITAR SMASH! hur hur Reform Army? CAPITAR SMASH! hur hur rinse and repeat then i ragequitted by running away from capitar after 8th tornado and tried again several turns later. I have to say that FE:LH is only game where I actually respect magic in. XD
Tornado is good by breaking up their big force in smaller pieces that you can pick off one by one. Has anyone tried firestorm? The description: All units in target army take 8 fire damage (+4 per fire shard). Firestorm leaves a fire raging in the affected tile for 10 turns. The effect of the fire lasting 10 turns isn't clear from the text. Does this mean it will do 8 +4/shard damage for any army that
Great to know, thanks Ericridge. Strange that your Umberdroth didn't level more, perhaps your force was classified as much stronger than the dragonforce?
Well my force was rated as Epic and triple dragon army was rated as epic. Beyond that, I dun know lol. But I do remember similar experience of old old raids into Molten Core back in Vanilla wow and people's disappo
I don't know. I"m still mixed on whether Monsters give AI special treatment or not. I think the AI have some special treatment. But I did watch Altar lose it's last city to monsters surrounding it's last city, there was like about 15 monsters just chilling. I think it only got attacked because I dumped a falling star that oneshot everything in it except for heroes at 1 hp. They can take a falling star and be merely incapacitated :P Then i reloaded to get the monsters and r
Quoting Ericridge, reply 2About autoresolve battle, I think it also targets the top or bottom of your army list first so if you have stuff like archers in the army its better to hide them in the middle first before starting the battle. Mages too. Erh, didn't know you can change the order of troops. How can I do that? (I'm at work so I cannot try.) I would want my best defense units to be at the first
Yeah but, they use exact same picture for two other events like The long forgotten menaces once thought to be gone has come out of hiding etc th eone that summons Amhah where you can take his head for -50% unrest boost in a city plus some other buff. While another one is like uh They refuse to go quietly into the night which summon stuff like insanely huge army of corpse spider which apparently is enough to qualify for epic rating and another huge army like Enraged ravenous spiders which when
I have a problem with this event. It triggered but, the event picture is all wrong, so very wrong! I don't even see a single human in this picture but it's all demons and beasts.. I see a troll, two of cyndrum demons, a unknown flyer, another troll and a plaguestalker? And the Shround castle in the background but not a single syndicate to be seen. :( Need a syndicate appropriate picture! And a random
Well dimstog, I think its random. Either one unit takes the damage or spread over. But I have found out that its a common constant if a archer or some weak frail unit is at bottom of the unit, it will get focus fired all the time in auto resolve instead of ur tough tanks at top of list. That way you will always take losses. Its painful to lose lvl 10 archers this way. But after i hide them in middle, I stopped losing archers. I'd rather take the spread out damage. O
Doesn't blacksmith take about 32 turns on average to research it when you rush it? One tactic when enemy troops is just better than yours is to outlast them like nuts. With heal magic and using your defenders. It'll be long slow battle but eh you'll win and that's what matters.
About autoresolve battle, I think it also targets the top or bottom of your army list first so if you have stuff like archers in the army its better to hide them in the middle first before starting the battle. Mages too.
Uh is it 20 food per grain? I think. Not sure.
So I went on a journey to make preperations to take down Vetrar. He tried to leave the wildlands but I managed to bait Vetrar into staying there by having weak armies staying one tile away from vetrar every turn until he came back into wildlands then I had my weak armies flee away from vetrar. Then I began my journey that I accidently started because I found a special dragon statue that told me the reward for beating it is an Ashwake dragon. I was like dude, isn't vetrar weak to f
