Biggest problem for me has been through all of Beta (that i've participated in, first was 0.50 i believe), and is still present to this day.. Play long enough (god forbid you put it on slow research)... your game will crash long before you've finished the tech tree, the engine is simply far too unoptimized to handle it. I had hoped that this was something they'd fix before ver. 1.0, but i guess not. Then again, i already paid for the game, so more fool me i

I feel the game in general has taken a "stupid" direction lately. Not that scaling has ever really worked in FE this far, but to try to elaborate, no matter what race i choose, what monster options, etc, there are always plenty of STRONG armies in relative proximity to me. This might make sense if you are 150 turns into a normal game, but when you are on turn 30 on epic, and massive armies steamroll the only other city you've managed to establish, and then "siege" your capital for
Bloated database or memory leak, I remember GalCiv II being plagued with this problem, and it seem to elude the programmers for ages, I think they fixed it in the end, not to sure. I hope they catch it quick in FE, otherwise it means you can never have a maxed out game without restarting every 5 moves.
yeah, i dont know what it is thats causing it (hopefully Stardock knows.. if not th
It still suffers from the "bloated database" syndrome.. let the game run long enough (a large epic game for example, forget about getting that done even halfway through, or even a medium epic game).. it just keels over and dies at some point (program stops responding). But yes, it is quite entertaining to play now :)
It depends entirely on the difficulty. On lower difficulties (beginner, easy), the AI tends to be quite handicapped, but if you move on to hard or challenging, it picks up quickly (that is my experience at least).
Not even close here. I've played at least 5 games from the start until unavoidable crash (and savefiles also keep crashing), mostly on large maps, but i've also tried medium with the same result. Not tried small maps yet.
I used to be quite wary of Steam for the simple reason that you could not enjoy a game without being connected to the internet. As broadband became the norm (at least where i live), this ceased to be a problem, and i now support Steam as its a very convinient way of getting updates, etc. What i *dont* like on the other hand, is that there are a "gazillion" other platforms out there that tries to take market shares away from Steam. Not that i am against competition, what
Great and addictive gameplay, but there are numerous serious bugs still present. First, there are the visual bugs, like some times your hero will be in the square next to the army even though they are all in the same group (only way i managed to fix that was to leave and rejoin). Second, there are the bugs with the engine itself, like massive graphicsl slowdowns, the game going totally out of whack since the running animation dont stop at the end of your movemen

Yeah, has happened several times to me as well, the AI popping down outposts next to one another.
That is not my experience :) The two traits do not cancel eachother out (not in my 0.95 build at least). If one takes both, one gets +1 attack, and recruiting champions costs 50 percent of normal (which is still very beneficial, but at least they are not free to recruit).
Always play on large (in fact, i find the large map in FE to be ridicilously small). Is Large the biggest possible, or will there be a "huge" (or equivalent) setting once the full game releases ?
There is also a bug where if you move a group of units (an army), at the end of their movement range, they'll keep the running animation. That makes it impossible to end turn or really to do anything. Just find the culprit unit and click on it, that stops the animation, and the game continues normally.
