I updated to the new patch prior to playing the game. I played for several hours offline and had 5-6 save files. When I went to reload they were all gone. The game did not register them. However, they are there when I save a game. Is this due to DRM requiring an internet connection? It is very frustrating to play a new game and encounter a problem such as this.

I was in the middle of updating elemental via impulse when my system froze. When I subsequently tried to resume after rebooting the system the progress report seems to endlessly say "preparing download". Is this a normal lag (ie. impulse is currently slow) or is it because of the crash? Thanks for any suggestions anyone has. I have since been able to download the patch by aborting the download and restarting but the behavior was odd. It was very slow for ~100-2
