IGN just did an article on this, and greatly explains why I still buy all my game physically over digitally... until there are better laws in place that protect both consumer and publishers, physical games still give me a leg to stand on... digital not so much. http://games.ign.com/articles/121/1219852p1.html#disqus_thread What do you think, I thought it was kind of interesting with h

Well I was thinking that when you "upgrade" it should cost a certain amount of gold, but I like having a short penalty too...

I voted fair, while I generally thing its a huge improvement over WOM, there are a good amount of little things that keep me from enjoying it for very long.
I think upgrading from parties to groups to companies is pretty awesome, and having it stuck at one value for the entire game seems a little boring.
Well that why I said if it's not removed, how about allowing us to upgrade units to higher quantities... so we don't have to disband/ re-train.
Playing FE for the past couple of hours, I think its a lot better than WOM and a huge improvement, but I think how units are handled on the map are a complete pain. 1. Moving an army from a city to land or to attack someone is a complete pain when you have to select each individual unit to group them. It would be nice if when you click on the city then click on an area of the map, the entire army garrisoned will move to that position allowing to quickly move the army. Either that are

Some things I agree with in this article, some I don't... in regards to software ownership, I view it like this. Publishers don't care if you call a game yours, nor will a publisher take a game away from you or try to remove your access if your just playing the game. The truth is software licenses were only implemented to stop gamers from doing things that the developer/publisher wouldn't want gamers to do like modify portions of the software or making copies and such, which is un
I'm actually sad to see this, I still buy all my PC games through retail... and am glad to see more retail games come preloaded with steam now. Though I prefer consoles to PC, I just don't trust digital downloads nor do I really have an internet good enough to support it. I was planning to pay the extra cost of shipping to get a copy when the final version released for FE, but it seems I can't do that now. I may try to get the beta today depending on how big it is (if anyo

@Frogboy Any update on when the rest of 2010 WOM buyers will have access to the beta, I know you said it should be within 2 weeks which was almost 2 weeks ago... can we still expect it this week? Thanks.
Just checking to see if Beta emails are still being sent out, I believe I got my copy of WOM in late 2010 and registered it in late 2010, can't wait to play the beta since it's been so long since I played WOM. There is no download available as of right now. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Hi, I hope someone can answer my question regarding Elemental FE. I believe I get FE for free, since I got E: WOM before December 31st of 2010 correct? So my question is will there be a way for costumers to have a boxed retail copy or a CD version sent to them if they are unable to download the game upon release using impulse. I have a slow internet service, that doesn't really like it when you use lots of constant bandwidth since it uses Wifi and it's not a direct hook up.&nb

Well the game shouldn't be called an expansion, when it doesn't even expand upon the original physical game, even if FE includes EWOM features. If they want a fresh start with FE then that is fine, but I don't want to have to be trying to keep up with two different versions of Elemental. If they want to just support EWOM until FE is released then move on to that, then that is what I want to know. But right now it sounds like there trying to keep both of these game going at the same time
A New Game There is also another advantage to Fallen Enchantress being its own game rather than an “expansion pack”. And that is, it frees the team to make radical changes to the basics of the game while allowing War of Magic to still be updated on its own source tree. A user of Fallen Enchantress won’t have to have War of Magic to play it and can treat War of Magic as a separate game.
To me that sounds like

My problem with this is most likely, EWOM will get some (X) features eventually that FE doesn't get, while FE will get some (X) features that EWOF doesn't get. Then I will most likely choose between which I like more and not play the other. But while the whole time I'm playing It I will be thinking, "Dang I wish FE had this feature like EWOM has, or Dang I wish EWOM had this feature like FE has". Since they both will be continued to be updated, there both bound to offer different things. If F
Murteas et all, I think what people are questioning is the fact that FE (Fallen Enchantress) is being introduced as a new game (possibly with the removal of some WoM play rules) not as an update with additional functionality/content on top of the base WoM (War of Magic), so therefore if you prefer the gameplay of 1.20 WoM you will not be able to play that with the additional content from FE. Then when the 2nd expansion

On the other it changes the focus of the game from the sovereign to the empire. We are talking "psychology of gaming" stuff here (attachment and agency) but I tend to think that although I like the idea of succession, it robs Elemental of one of the things that makes it unique. Also if you are in a bad relation with every kingdom/empire, than you could only go to generation 2, or turn 400-800(not saying it couldn't be changed...). Also, if they improved multiplayer, but didnt change the marrige system and made mortal soverigns, then groups of two people are going to team up and make endless dynasties whi
