Hi all, Can anyone think of a way to make some spells AI only ? I know you can add a unitstat as a prereq for a spell... so I'm trying to think of a way to give an AI sov a particular unit stat... but not a players Sov. Can't think of way to do that though without duplicating the Sovs. Any ideas? Any other way to do an AI only spell maybe? Thanks.

I know this doesn't help with your question but I signed up to just to give my support for Stardock, because I think LH is such a great game. I like Galciv, but I *really* like LH. Yep for sure that works. But the complexity i'm looking for is a spell that requires (and consumes) 2 different scrolls when cast. So let's say your champion is carrying a "scroll of death" and a "scroll of fire".... I want that to unlock the "Spell of Flaming Death", which when cast... consumes both scrolls (and kills everyone via fiery death). I'm sure it's possible to unlock the spell by making each scroll generate a different unitstat, and then havi

Hi all, Bit of a longshot, but anyone know if there is a way to use/delete an item when casting a spell ? So for example let's say that to cast a particular spell requires 3 different scroll items... that is do-able with unitstats.... but then what if you wanted to have the 3 scroll items "consumed" when casting the spell..... possible? I was fairly sure I had seen something like somewhere... but I could be wrong. Thanks.

Thanks for your thoughts all, very sensible and helpful. @ joeball123 - great comments mate on options for the start of the game. @ GFireflyE - I agree with everything you said, except i'd make it so the player has to destroy the Tower of Dominion before they can start building a "new" one in another city. So if they want to relocate the captial it comes at a cost (the time taken to build a new one).

Thanks guys, figured as much. @ BernieTime - yes if it's 90% of the time the first building constructed it seems a bit pointless perhaps. I'm wondering though.... like maybe if it took longer to build or something, so that then there was a decision created as to *when* to build it (rather than *if*). So if it took twice as long how would that change things?

Hi all, Just a bit of a random question, i'm wondering when everyone builds their Tower of Dominion? I'm looking at some ideas for modding it. Just curious as to if the typical strategy would see it built early on (one of the first 3 buildings)... or some other use. I tend to build it first... seems like the best option in most cases, but i'm actually pretty average at playing this game from a winning perspective so wondering what the more ruthless ty

I'm just waiting to see if HF is going to update the background stats library for 1.6. The best thing would be to add "IsSword" and similar to the background stats library used by COS, then just use that for compatibility.

Interesting thread. I really like Frogboys Dev Journals, and I generally find myself nodding as I read along... generally agreeing with his thoughts. But can't say that's the case here.... don't get me wrong, I understand the point and it's an interesting discussion - but I don't see Magic as a "problem". I believe the Life/Death schools is now working as intended, based on the current state of the game and from what Kael said in the twitch stream. Life and Death schools can still only be selected by Kingdom and Empire allegiances respectively. So no change there. Personally I think that's for the best (although I realize some would like like the restriction to be removed - each to their own I guess). Sanjo is an exception to the norm, she is a Kingdom character
