Quoting BernieTime, reply 6 I'd be happier with a pre-version 2.0 build. So much this! I do not expect the Devs to fix all the issues with the latest version (so I won't bother listing them), but it'd be great if they coul
This is after all the best fantasy 4X ever made in my mind, even though I'd love city development/economics to be abit deeper for perfection, and we still lack naval stuff and multiplayer. Now please start development of FE:LH: Elemental II.
What he said. [e digicons][/e]
Hi all...
Sounds hella confusing.
I agree.
One regret I have in LH is that we didn't give each faction their own unique damage type so that players could design units based on defending against that unit type.
Personally I don't think you should loose any sleep on that one, I'm not sure how well that would have worked in LH. Minor factions in SK sure.
Not sure if they're 100% up to date but I would suggest trying these: https://forums.elementalgame.com/451769/page/2/#3475863 https://forums.elementalgame.com/450634/page/3/#3485867
Bit late to the party but just wanted to say that art is awesome! Would like to know who is responsible for it?
Personally I don't care about range so much..... but basic LOS would be great for bows (and bolt type spells).
Just watched the replay, just wanted to say that the strategic map looks quite a bit better. Also, not sure how long they've been in there because I haven't watched the last couple but the the turn indicated in tactical combat (on the left, turn 4, turn 5 etc) is great... would like to see that backported to LH. And I like the particle effects behind the strategic spell book, although I think it could probably be toned down a notch or two... it's gre
FE:LH felt more gritty, SK feels more cartoonish. It's not really it's own style, I think - too much Warcraft 3. And I'll forever miss equipping a weapon in FE:LH and actually seeing the weapon.
What he said. FE/LH has a nice dark feel to it, Sorcerer King not so much.
Hi abob101, I just found a small glitch playing as the ice faction. When I canceled a shrine I was building, there was no refund of the 30 faith resource!
Can't do much about that one unfortunately, I think it's a side effect of using a custom resource (Faith) as part of the cost of the building. Think of it as the gods being unfavorable to those who cancel their divine building projects. [e
Oh I see...to be honest I didn't even know there were install instructions (although I visited your wikidot site). You might want to put a link to the install instructions on the welcome page. I'll be sure to check that now.
Yep you're right thanks.
This mod is awesome! I'm playing as the druids right now. A quick question about the new spell classes, I don't think the random maps are producing nature, battle, or beast shards. How do I increase my faction's power in these classes? Is this intentional or just not working right now?
Thanks Shackalakala glad you're enjoying it. Double check the install instructions here for the new reso
Also, are things working as intended in that you don't get the weapons that monsters are wielding when you defeat them? I just killed a coal golem and didn't get it's awesome pyre brand.
Yeah that's correct, you don't necessarily get their gear.
IF the AI would be able to manage obstacles/choke points.
Yeah agreed that would have to be included for sure. The start point would be to get the AI to think about moving and then taking an action, so it would for example consider moving (to open up LOS) before shooting. Not sure it does that very well at the minute. Get Rush working better, use it to get in position for an Impale etc.... ah we
Well I never thought Id say it, but this game could really use tactical LOS. I was never interested in it personally.... but after playing with the new Battlegrounds DLC, some of the tactical maps are really nice, some interesting layouts..... except that there some walls and other barriers that archers can shoot straight through. :-( It just seems a bit silly, but beside that.... the maps are so cool, if you just had the some of the walls etc blocking LOS for arc
If you happen to have Death magic you can use the Oppression city spell for -10% unrest. There is also Bless City -25% Unrest when you get the Arcane Mastery tech (although is costs 250 mana). Build up your economy so that you can run on a low Tax rate.
Thanks mqpiffle [e digicons][/e] Still working on it, got some more factions tweaks coming... Gaush getting a bit of love in the next patch.
I concur. Civ4 is the best 4x game ever made. May I suggest you also download and install these three mods
Picked up Civ4 on special today. Downloading FFH2 now.... I know i'm ashamed, I've never played it. [e digicons]:O[/e] Looking forward to checking it out, from all reports it's kinda decent. [e digicons]:-"[/e] [quote who="Elana
Some people have said that Sorcerer King looks a lot like Legendary Heroes. What do you think people mean by this and what would be the most effective way to make sure the two games are visually distinct?
I think it's 2 things, maybe 3: 1) The art style, specifically the cell shaded style is very distinctive.. Not really many (any?) other 4x games with that kind of look. This is probably the main factor. 2) The engine. &
Hey abob101, could you post the code/examples? I can't seem to reproduce that.
Mate i'm not sure what I was on about there... because I've just been looking and it doesn't look like i'm touching the ElementalDefs.xml. I have not idea, at this stage i'm going to assuming it was the post of a drunkard.... but i'm going to look a bit further and see if I had something there
Preaching to the choir?
Nice to know it's not just me, I was just quite disappointed with it. Having said that, i've played a fair bit more of it now (40 hours)... and I can see that it kinda does have that "one more turn" feeling.... it can definitely get a bit addictive, but I don't think in a super fun kind way. It's like... next turn, next turn... just a few more turns and i'll h
I've pushed on with Civ 5 a bit, I can see the diplomacy is really quite good. Still kinda boring though. What amazes me is how many people play this game, it's still in the top 5 most played games on Steam.... I really don't understand why. I'm more into fantasy (or ancient/medieval period) than sci-fi, so not feeling too enthusiastic about Beyond Earth if it's anything like Civ5. Are there any mods, eg. Faerun, maybe Ea or wahtever it&#
That's awesome thanks cardinaldirection. Maseren - sounds likes it's just a problem with the base game unfortunately :-(
Interesting... I used to play on Challenging and now Hard, maybe why I don't see it (much). What level of difficult have you got the AI set to Maseren ?
That is kinda strange. I can't see how it could happen for iron, crystal etc. If you can be bothered at some point it would be interesting to play into a game for a bit with mods disabled and see if it still happens. How far into a game before you get that behavior... early/mid/later ? I'll have a look at it next time i'm playing/testing and see how much of it happen for me, like I say I've seen it happen with Faith sometimes but I don't
