Okay, here's a weird one. My sovereign attempts to attack an enemy city and nothing happens. It gets worse. After the city battle fails to initiate, none of my units can move even though they have movement points left. I also can not advance to the next turn. I can do just about anything else except move and end turn. This persists even after exiting fully from the game and reloading. I have including links to the debug.err and a saved game.  
Game stopped responding after a few hours with the large Anthys map and eight opponents. No dump file created. Not bad considering how much I've been playing this weekend. I was able to use the autosave and resume play.
Try updating your video drivers. They appear to be over two and a half years old. You can see the date in the debug file under display info.
How about being able to press ENTER to save a game in addition to clicking the save button.

I tried my sovereign as something else besides a mage, and I didn't like it due to lack of spell casting. My sovereign is always a mage now.

Maybe not what I thought happened. It looks like the AI used a custom sovereign I had created before. That's fine, but I deleted everything from the "Units" folder when I upgraded to 1.2 and started a new game. I also noticed units from my previous game showing up as well. So... where did they come from if I deleted them from my units folder? Also, I just looked and they are not currently in my units folder. The only units there are units I created this
When the Rodato Kingdom built the world achievement Treasury Vault, the pop-up stated that Brian built the achievement. That was incorrect because I was playing the sovereign Brian. I would guess the Rodato is the alternate Altar which I was playing. When trying to look at the city details of a partially revealed city I get a reproducible crash. Below are links to the debug, dump, and saved files. To reproduce load the save game provided. Find the sovereign Brian and click on the edge of the partially revealed city of Imperium. Now click on the circle in the lower left corner to try to bring up the details of the city. Boom crash. At first I thought it had something to do with the frozen bones spell,

I still see this too, but it's much better than WoM.
Are you sure it's auto saving every turn, and not just pausing as the AI thinks in between turns? Have you looked at your saved games to verify it's actually saving every turn?
I've seen the same thing. Restarting the game clears the graphical glitch.

I went back in and found a base archer I had trained, and it upgraded to the Ignys Longbow correctly. However, two versions of the archer (mounted archer and Deadeye) I that I designed (within the game) will not upgrade.
I still can't seem to upgrade my mounted archers from a Yew bow to an Ignys bow. It seems to think that the Yew bow is the best. I've got screen shots below that show the order in the design screen is switched if that matters. Also, to add a bit of strangeness, I have one group of mounted knights who can upgrade to the Borealis Blade and another who can not. Other than being created at different times the two groups should be the same. They were all even
I have seen this as well without outposts involved. It happened with a city right next to my capital. As described above the condition seems to come and go.
