1.19c Strategic Analysis here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/405436 Summary of Observations: URGENT PROBLEM: apparent broken xml tags with Umber. They'd rather smoke weed instead of conquering the world. Kraxis, Tarth, & Capitar all looked like they were puff puff givin' but then amazingly decided to get off their butts in the later seasons. They must have had bills to pay. A
Prior 1.19b analysis here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/405148 Purpose: Analyze strategic AI behavior to help identify issues and hopefully help improve the game. Scope: Basic block and tackle strategic actions such as exploration, expansion, city improvements, etc. Scenario: Large custom map built from "Ovia" - created an island so I can cycle turns, reduced starting positions to 1
I usually also go for medium. Partly because of the memory issue (and the game get's rather slow after a few hundred turns on large maps) and partly because I kinda get lost with large maps and Dozens of conquered cities (still didn't find out if or how you can raze them like you were used to in the beginning).
FYI, You can raze now at any time - it was removed from the tech tree.
All this mod stuff is so cool and looks fantastic. Hats off to you all putting work into these things!

Troj - I'm guessing none of that good stuff can be implemented, along with improved AI, until the root cause(s) of memory issues are fixed. Every single change probably has to be measured for potential memory impact (either positive or negative). Then again I could be talking out of my ass because I don't have the details nor am I a programmer. I probably should stop speculating though.
Now maybe it's the "cup is half-full" guy in me but I have a feeling once the memory ceiling issue is resolved, we may start to see some rapid improvements in AI and other things. The game may quickly become fun to more people. Then again, I could be wrong. I think it's fun now but the AI doesn't challenge me enough as it stands.
First, Heavenfall! [Edit] Were broken xml tags confirmed in 1.19b and fixed in 1.19c? Thanks.
Normal pacing on a medium map - it's not the length of the wand but the magic in the stick. [e digicons]B)[/e]
I'm beginning to think the challenges we see with both strategic and tactical AI are in some way dependent on the memory ceiling Brad mentioned in his dev journal (i.e. fixing AI issues could be difficult when being forced to consider affect on available memory). Here is a link: https://forums.elementalgame.com/405282 With that said, I recommend posting tactical AI suggestions in this thread (which Brad stickied himself a
You're lost alright but I doubt DRM caused it.
Nice, thanks for sharing!

Enemy sovs who turn up in my territory unprotected are basically handing me the game. This is a game-breaker. I know this has been reported before; are you getting anywhere with it?
Here's a summary of recent developments. The suicide thing didn't pop up until the goodie huts were
I just played a few games and form my experiences AIs do equip their heroes somewhat. With sovereigns and spouses they tended to save up all their money for mid game weapons and completely bypass early game weapons. I just played a game where Yithril jumped straight to a battleaxe for their sovereign and equipped their spouse with a longbow. The bow actually hurt because my armor was only leather..... I didn't see them equip champions though. They

Brad - turn 7 of a new 1.19b game and I got the popup that Umber was destroyed by monsters & ruffians. Sovereigns, spouses, and champions need some serious love.
