Ready for release! We can nitpick all day on loose ends but it's ready to go. Time to see how the market reacts. I hope it's well received, money starts pouring in, the devs can relax for a bit... and then come back in full swing with updates, assistance to modders, and expansions. [e digicons]:jafo:[/e] I really want the excitement to take off post-release, imagine 10 more Seans and HF's around here modding stuff. Oh, the glory!
Awesome, Brad. lol @ Jack, Captain of the Grammar Police. [e digicons][/e]
I've personally never experienced the save/load problems. With that said, I never load a game from within a game (memory leaks) and habitually manually save vs. relying only on autosave. When I do need an autosave, never seemed to be a problem. I do turn the settings to autosave every turn.
Ya know, in my current game I noticed, while researching trading, I suddenly had roads connected my two cities... I thought it was weird but since others are seeing it too it does seem like roads might be broken. Which does not bode well for the gold release on Tue. Very strange.
More results, more results!
I haven't used autoturn since the first time I loaded up EWOM.
The answer to this, my friends, is of course, 42. FE's # is in good company. [e digicons][/e] Getting serious for a moment, comparing to Sid's Alpha Centauri, which has a 92, I would give FE an 87. For me at least, Alpha sets the bar - FE is closing in.
Man, that Pony in game brings tears to my eyes...
It is really fast end game. SD has done a wonderful job improving the overall performance of the engine.
I get the feeling the whole armor thing is simply a design decision on whether city defenders are a ragtag militia or a geared garrison. Now there is some illogical stuff in the current design, as the militia's weapon does upgrade as the techs increase. So, in reality, we have naked militia members scrambling to defend their city, leaving behind any available armor, but grabbing the latest bad ass high-tech weaponry. As Sean indicated I've used for an extra summon and then park him in my capital where he parties hard with all the faction women.
Ya know you're right - loading a save fixes the problem. It's still a polish issue, but more minor than I initially thought.

Oh, Nellie!
Cool. Glad to know revelry is fixed.

Just hired my first hero who was in forest square. Hired, and now it looks like a plain but is still a forest. It's a game of magic- now you see it, now you don't! Does the game still never show the forest even after quitting and reloading? [/quote] Nope but I will c
Insane world difficulty, expert faction AI. I love the mobs to be dangerous, and the faction AI to get a slight edge. Last build I was in an epic fight for my life that came down to 2 pivotal battles to stay alive. Two cities only, playing as Pariden, hemmed in by 3 empires with the other kingdoms on the other side of map. All empires at war with me sending constant armies to attack me... it was epic. Magnar was stacking tireless march which almost cost me dearly... on the other hand, f
4x shrink (and still counting) on my sand golem... those shamans love that shrink.
I really enjoyed this. Paul - you remind of a programming bug squashing Stalone (either Rocky or Rambo).

Started new game, ctrl-u to confirm missing trees are back (after starting game in admin mode), ctrl-u to revert back to normal, ctrl-n to restart map, alt-tab, CTD. No saves since turn 1, here's the dump .
