I had this issue when I finally decided to play again yesterday, to see how the crashing has improved. Few hundred turns in, while I was at war, the game liked to crash every 4-5 turns, either a "Elemental has stopped working" or the standard out of memory issue. Oddly enough, after I killed the faction I was at war with, the crashing stopped. I suspect foul play by Kraxis. You can safely keep reloading, and saving every turn, you can complete a game now, as I managed t

I got my copy of elemental for like 25 dollars on Amazon a month ago, when the price tanked, and was dropping dollars everyday. It's back up to normal now though.
Huh? You find the AI too difficult? I think you may be in the minority... are you actually trying to expand or fight back? I don't get what the complaint is... that you get attacked by the AI? What should it do? Sit there docilely while you trounce it? Or that you just can't seem to get ahead of it? If the latter, what have you tried? In my experie
City Spamming is an aspect of the game.... You revive the land by building those cities, expand your territory more (makes the world more safe -- also good for teleporting around), etc.
If the AI has too much gold (he tops the charts on Gildar Production), the screen shows he has a negative value, which if you then request his Gildar, it causes a glitch which allows you to finally be able to negotiate a peace treaty!!!! Good bug :) Edit: Needless to say...I robbed him blind the secon
I advise myself in my current game. Janusk got sick and tired of doing it I guess.
It's gonna be very hard to get to a stage soon where E:WOM will please most buyers, attract new buyers, and turn the negativity around. With all the problems of Elemental, a month after release now, both technical and gameplay-wise, wouldn't it make more sense if Stardock started working on Elemental2 instead of spending the company's valuable resources on fixing problems of a game that, in the mind of a lot of players and critics,
Honestly, I wouldn't mind an AI that took longer. Nothing more than a full minute probably, but yea. I mean, if it takes almost 2 minutes in really large maps or w/e, i'd still be fine with it.
Trust me, you wouldn't be fine with it. lol. You also have to consider people on weaker computers.
Okay, Maybe the problem is I don't know what is "early" game and "mid" game etc. Here is the scenario: Large map, all opponents selected on Hard, notable locations and quests are off, I'm playing Empire, Magnar, w/homegrown Sovereign with Brilliance and Meditation and Royalty. Turns 135 I have 4 cities: 3 level 3 and 1 level 1 I have: 3 gold mines, 1 Iron mine, 1 Fertile (started with), 1 Oasis and
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit - up to date on updates Nvidia GTX295 - 258.96 (current version) stereoscopic 3D is off AMD Phenom II x4 965BE 16GB installed ram If it matters, playing on max settings. Game will periodically crash, likes to give error when saving/loading after playing for a long time. First starts happening a few hundred turns in without quitting.
Okay, I really wanted to like the game. I bought it on the release date, thinking - Stardock, you can't go wrong with them. Galciv 2 was wonderful. I waited for a few patches to roll before finally trying to play 1.08, but now I am starting to regret my purchase. It's amazing how every component of this game is literally broken, as is someone put the game into a sack and pounded it with a hammer for a month. Yes, you are correct, this is a rant, but I f
Odd. I thought they'd fixed this. You have any duplicates of the CoreNPC.XML files... perhaps? Maybe a modded one?
Unless their updater did that, then nope. No mods, no changes.
Encountered two Raline the Merchants in one game, second one showed that she was also my wife, so now I have two wives....the copy had way more Mana though...and she also appeared with a baby icon instead of the default icon. I'm sure this can happen to other champions as well. Anyone else encounter duplicates?
Quoting SirFlak, reply 18I started a freshgame. The magic is much more powerful. I dropped 7 enemy units with one blizzard. I think I did 13 to most of them. In previous version I used to just miss or do like 2 damage. This is much kewler and actually worth casting spells now. Yes they made the monsters worth less but they made it very likely you'd have a gold mine right next to your start area so I feel like that balances fine. My
Quoting Tridus, reply 63I think expectations are set more realistically for MP right now, Brad. As long as people can form games, there shouldn't be much of a problem. Everybody knows what the gameplay is like, and how it's going to improve in 1.1. So try not to worry about it. Once it's running it's one less thing to worry about. There's a considerable level of depression here across the team that is, admittedly, affecting t
As a paying customer I would adivse getting it now to support Stardock and jump on the train of fun as they improve on what is already a great game. Sure it had some issues but for the most part it's really stable and doesn't have that many problems. I can play full games to their end and have only had 1 crash since the game came out. Get it now and stop listening to the trolls who probably don't even own a copy.

"And i mean, if you pay the 50 bucks now or in 6 months, whats the difference?" Because in 6 months this game will be so price reduced it makes sense to wait since they cannot sell any copies at 50 dollars.
There's currently a price war on Amazon, price went down another dollar today. A few sellers are duking it out, it's down to 28 dollars, brand new.
I have been interested in this game for a while. I have read a TON of negative stuff about this game, and I come here and most of you seem to be enjoying it, (barring the bugs). Should I buy it now, or give it 6 months to see if the game is actually "finished" a bit more before throwing my 50 bucks at it???
Buy it for 29.95 brand new on Amazon.
