also in testing out creating a new campaign I didnt know where to put it in the mod folder so i put it in the data/english folder with the rest of teh core files and the campaign popped up just fine in the game so I know that at the very least you can add to the core xml files and have it effect the game.

Ive read in another thread that this wont work, but I know I changed something in my core xml files and I am almost positive it worked after doing the /createxmlbinary thing. Im at work right now so I cant actually cite a specific thing but will later on after work. Anyways Im asking because of the 1.08 version about to come out with multiplayer, I am curious if modding these xml files will have a detrimental effect on multiplayer, if the game checks the xml files and s

got another one I just thought of too. Lets say I wanted to make a new tech tree based solely on the player not the city management types we have now. So for example. A rpg style campaign without any city type playing. i think this is possible as a trigger in the map, when a player enters a specific tile you calculate the current hp subtracted by whatever you want the tile to do, however I do not know how to link it to a spell yet, I could see some useful things like wall of brambles slows any unit over it by 2/3's and deals 5 damage per turn to a unit is on the wall. Sounds interesting.

Basically want to know if there is a way that anyone is aware of to save a character xml during game and call it back. Example. I want to take the current state of the soveriegn hero lets say level 10, who knows what the player leveled him up as. So we save the character, wipe him from the map then reload him in an entirely differant portion of the map, effectively transporting the player. Another question I have. Ca

Im working on making templates for everything for my personal use. You could to to help you out with this. All you have to do is go into the world editor and start creating triggers for things. Then save it go into the xml file and correlate the triggers to the xml coding that was generated. Just bought this game, played through the first chapter then a few custom games. every time felt like the same game on different terrain. So I figure the funnest part must be the modding. I read through the modding guides 1 and 2 and browsed over the tips on the rest of them below that. So I found out after reading all the stuff how to create a new campaign, and make intro movies with the .bik video format and items and heroes and icons for custom artwork and what not.
