I haven't been playing tons of elemental lately, since I'm waiting for a few more AI tweaks, so someone correct me if I'm wrong but in regards to archers in tactical battles. The few times I have seen the computer with archers its been fairly easy to rush and take them out. So once the computer gets in the habit of making them, maybe work on making it keep a guy or two back to defend them also. Obviously your sovereign can just nuke them with spells, and your own archers can

Apparently not as much time had passed as I thought. However when 2 of my daughters finally became of age, one of them had the portrait of one of my archer units. messing around with her portrait options fixed it though.

I wasn't able to play last night to check, but I have checked my capital for them and never saw any of them. Its been a little bit since I checked though. I'll get back tomorrow if I simply misplaced them, or they ran off with Kraxis hipsters because their mother and I ignored them.

I've had 3 daughters in the game. I haven't paid attention to how many turns however, None of them are available for me to play as yet. Its probably been 200 + turns since my first daughter was born and she is no where to be found. I remember in previous patches having use of my children by now. Did they push back how long it takes them to age or did my game glitch? I've searched all my towns and haven't found them anywhere. Am I not looking in the right pl

I agree. I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and I noticed I was actually in the red and was down to 10 gold trying to figure out a way to save my economy, when I got war declared on me. Luckily I could still steamroll the AI with a few summons and magic. So I took some of their towns and now have an abundance of money. Once the AI is where it should I would have been utterly destroyed, and it caught me off guard to actually start paying attention to my citie

I should either be able to buy troops items at a shop or have an actual upgrade process where they go back into "training" and you're only charged the differential in cost.
So much this. Thats what I assumed would happen, when I chose to "upgrade" my troops the first time. I was disappointed that

I think most agree aside from those having the bug where it misses, that magic is too powerful now. Personally I think aside from a few tweaks the magic itself is working great. I think the big problem is the fact that particularly with shards your magic is too powerful for the amount of magic it costs. I've destroyed armies by spamming attack spells that only cost 2-3 mana. I think it might work better if they upped the amount of mana regen by say relating it to intel

This is the problem I had. No mines whatsoever in any of my territory. The only mine I found was a vitrol mine in the heart of the enemies territory. So I pretty much had to destroy a civlization to get 1 mine. Luckily magic is so overpowered now, I just nuked every army in site to get it.

So I played when it first came out and didn't have any problems with getting newer gear from my shops, now I decided to play some more with the new patch, and the weapon shops still have clubs in them and no armor? I've upgraded my military for equipment, but the only thing thats been added to any of my shops are the magical items I researched. Anyone else running into this?

I agree to this.

It would be neat to have a slider, when starting a new game to decide how often monsters spawn and how aggressive or intelligent they are. This way we could create games to focus purely on faction-to-faction play, coop monster hunting, or a combination of the two.
I really like this idea. Hav

I think we can all agree a sovereign's civilization disappearing after he is dead is a pretty stupid Idea. I think the devs realize this and I'm sure it will be fixed in one of the updates. Even if their is no line of succession the cities should still exist in some capacity. A war over succession would be awesome, with some warlord or unnamed hero fighting for control and taking over, That doesn't seem too likely though.

It would play exactly the same way. This has been reiterated multiple times in the topic. Essentially just wanti

I don't think a lot of people get that raven isn't talking about reworking the whole game for bigger battles, just pretty much giving you bigger unit stacks to make the battles feel bigger. I sign for this. Also I don't recall raven saying anywhere that he wanted it to happen before the vital balancing issues, he just wanted to see it in the game. Most likely it wouldn't happen until one of the expansions. Despite not changing the game play at all, a bigger scale of ba

I hope at least in an expansion that they go back to the idea that you need the sovereign to make the land fertile enough to found cities. Its one of the concepts that made me excited for the game. I'd figure saving it for an expansion would give them time to fix the more immediate problems and figure out a way to make it work. Maybe have a magical building in cities that allows the sovereign to enhance his channeling abilities to allow him to make land fertile from a distan
Just few things If you want to make Heroes more important on tactical battle, just avoid HOMM Style battle, as they always make the heroes chickened and hide on the back of other units. I don't think I've ever heard HOMM battles referred to as grand. Its pretty much just like 5 v 5. with the stacks having a huge number of units.

I have never played MoM and my excitement for elemental came from a paragraph game informer had on it like 2 years ago. That one paragraph got me psyched as all hell for this game. Now obviously there wasn't much information in that paragraph, just enough to let my imagination go wild. The main draw for me that the paragraph talked about was manipulating the world and your troops with your extraordinary magic in a strategy game. Once everything is up to par thats what

Well i was mainly just thinking of how some of the buffing spells work currently, aren't really worth it. So I didn't have any spells specifically in mind to remove, and would prefer everything to be tweaked to work, so in hindsight I suppose I picked my words poorly.

A post of mine copied from another thread Thats one of the beauties I thought of the simplistic HOMM combat. It had a very simple rock paper scissors style, but it helped promote a diverse army, with my hero supporting with his magic. Unique abilities or attributes would help a long way to making the tactical battles more well tactical. Obviously more gear oriented in this game though. Maybe having a unit in light armor moving more

140 Replies 327,047 Views

Yeah I agree on more diverse schools. Not to mention tweaking or removing some spells that hold no purpose. I like the idea of possibly different factions starting with a different amount, you could give the factions that don't start with a book some bonus that would help a more physical sovereign.

26 Replies 19,212 Views

I made my first sovereign and gave him 3 schools of magic, only after looking at the premade ones did I notice they all had all the spell books available. So to stay competitive I remade my sovereign with all the spell books. I know other people had mentioned other ways of limiting the amount of spell books available to everyone. I think its something that at some point needs to be addressed however not necessarily an immediate concern except maybe on multiplayer. I wa
