Hellers1155, I do not think that there is a reasonable chance that the game will be delayed. Too much attention has been focused on the release date. Nothing we can say or do will change that. Even the last few times we were asked about our opinion, it was mostly because Brad wanted his decision confirmed. The game will come out. The best things we can do right now is to get a few things fixed. So, as far as I am concerned, anything but pointing out probl

You know, every time that I see a game that has Scenarios / Modules / Campaigns instead of 'Campaign' in singular, my respect for it goes a notch higher. And the little I just saw makes me really, really hopeful. Maybe my wife will even lift her moratorium on modding done by either of us. By the way, I am getting SUCH a strong Age of Wonders vibe, it's scary. The Dark Elf campaign of the original Age of Wonders is my favorite fantasy campaign, ever, ahe

You know, I was thinking 'Maybe it's just saving after the turn counter is incremented' but then it would not explain why the AI got to the library faster, or received the Merchantcross Bazaar instead of me. Maybe the AI actually gets its queued movement completed, or maybe the multithreaded decisions are tied to turn numbers. In any case, this really needs looking into, as some people have been saying for a long, long time.

Ok, Lord Xia, put that mindreader down, and step back. I also like Kraxis, because if anyone should unite the world, it's them. I loved leading Karavox to an alliance victory in the my last playthrough.

Frankly, it seems that how much I enjoy the playthrough depends on the challenge and on how much I enjoy writing about what's going on. My last playtrough, I nearly ended early, and then I switched to in-character, and all was good. Well, the problem is that it is hard to write anything in character in the beginning, because there's nothing much happening, unless you want to write about the romance between your sovereign and his first hero... and it's always a downer,

I just ragequit what was supposed to be a new playthrough. No big deal, I was in my first war, and not doing that great (or one turn missed to autosave fuckupness would not have mattered all that much) But let me tell you how ridiculous has changed: 1. All Trog units get "Bloodthirsty","Muscle","Ironskin","Rage","Shadowstrike". Yes, even the pioneers. Pariden pioneers fight back, for some reason... I am not sure whether they actually inflict any damage, though.

Since I've come to this forum, people have been complaining that your saves/autosaves are broken. I have come up with my work around. If you save right before you hit [Turn] your save actually is a good one - no one loses a turn, the AI is not stalled, construction proceeds as it should. At any other time, save are suspect, and of course, the autosave is completely and utterly broken. But. I am trying to play Ironman, and sometimes the game crashes. And bei

They get five traits for free on the high difficulties, and sometimes these traits are Fast and Ironskin. And then they stack Ironskin again. Six defense is qu

I'm just afraid that the ride is a blast only for those of us who are intimately familiar with the train's quirks and peculiarities. There is a fun ride to be to be had, if you manage to figure out how not to scratch yourself on the rough edges, how to work the handle of the bed compartment, where to find the linen, and how to turn on the nightlight.

Well, I always play ironman. The thing is that the game has gotten a lot harder since Beta 3, where my sovereign was killing slags on turn 24 by himself. I used to go into ridiculous with Ceresa, and expect that baring a bear landing 10 mauls in a row, I would win. I had four losses on ridiculous in a row in .992, two of which (Karavox and Markin) came after I had actually started fielding my best possible troops... they were just not a match for a constant flow of 9 trait

My side gets a 23 research points boost in something I have not yet researched in the civilization tree, and so does the AI's side. It even makes sense. Probably "Master Scouts" & "Enchanters", with "Lucky" and "Defensive" thrown in. The problem with the new ridiculous is that in addition to economy bonuses, unlimited money, and omniscience (which I all enjoy playing against) the AI gets the ability to stack tons of traits on its units, which makes my troops feel like clumsy conscripts with sticks.

I just won my first game on .992-ridiculous with Lord Relias, and am thinking of doing a play-through. I have to say, the game was a chore, as the AIs get ridiculous advantages, some of which do not particularly contribute to player enjoyment - my elite, veteran units were completely outclassed by level 2-3 AI troops with 8-9 traits. At the end, I got the upper hand through quest maps, henchmen and a fortune spent in my Pariden protectorate on spellbooks. Is there an

Betrayers and Adventurer is not a very good combination at higher difficulty levels. It depends too much on chance. Sure, if you see Thannata, and manage to research the tech to hire her before someone else kills/hires her, you get a huge boost. But on ridiculous, the AI expands very quickly, and knows where the heroes are, and beelines for them. In my last playthrough , I had "Betrayers" and "Wealthy", not because

It does not look too overpowering to me, not at 50 mana, but then it's been a long time I've used it. I haven't played with "Enchanters" lately. When it cost 30 mana, and shards gave you 3 mana from the start, and developing resources did not tie up your city queues... then it was overpowering, and I was clamoring to have it made more costly. Right now, it's mostly about ZoC for Cloud Walking, because I'd rather rush a pioneer for ~100 gold than spend 50 ma

I hope that this is working as intended, and is due to the difficulty setting, because otherwise it's just... ridiculous. Still, if you feel the AI needs this many traits, you should still make sure it get each one no more than once. In the screen shot below, the Yithril trained troop has "Bloodthirsty", "Muscle", "Ironskin", "Rage", "Shadow Strike", "Ironskin" (again), "Fast" and "Constitution"... and it is still going down to my elusive spearmen and my sovereign. <p
