No, Lord Xia knows about this, but does not like it, has successfully lobbied to cripple snaking, and does not use it. He and I do not see eye to to eye on this one. Stop trying to turn everything into a fight. Seriously

I would love to see those in Fallen Enchantress. Everything the OP listed sounds like fun, and I hope the developers bring some of them in the game via extension packs, etc... BUT. I am damn glad that Stardock chose not to work on them until release. We have enough bugs as it is. This game has to fight for survival after the Elemental debacle. Once it gets a community these things will be welcome. Honestly, I am still worried that Fallen Enchantress w

Do you have the icons I pointed to in my post? Can you post a screenshot of a city's detail screen? Does the enemy have default defenders? can you give us a save? I'm amazed that no one else has ever observed this.

Turn 83-91 Turn 83: Raven's heart: well->mill. Blackstead: sage->cloister. Hagudst: sage->mill. Procipinee finds a compass, and ends the turn next to yet another group of skaths. A mistake, because her troops are badly beat up, and I should have not moved multiple tiles at once when I knew I'll end on a river. Turn 84: The skaths attack, but

When I look back at my games, I see that if I count my champions, their frequency goes like this (most to least) Assassins > Mages > Governors > Warriors > Defenders I have no use for defenders, because I want my fighters to deal damage. I may have too many governors, but that's because I play very aggressively, and spawn a ton of cities. The governors are invaluable to keep occupied cities producing and are great at leading armies. They get

GaelicVigil , Kalin and Lord Xia are two of the long time players, and you can learn a lot from them. Every city is supposed to have defenders that you can only see in action when it's attacked, or you can check out in the detail window, on the left, above the buildings, above the city level. I'll attach a picture in a few minutes. <img src=

I use always spears or bows but with three exceptions: 1. Heroes (you are a lot more likely to find a great sword than a great pike/lance) 2. My first unit if I am not playing with "Defensive" and if I need it for tying up enemies and absorbing damage. (i.e. I'm playing a wussy sovereign like Procipinee or Ceresa) 3. If do not have "Defensive", but have "Lucky" and am building an "Elusive" unit. Then I want the shield for the dodge bonus.

But if that's what you mean, then it impacts production as well. In my opinion, population right now does not play enough of a role, and as a result, the most effective strategy is to have a ton of level 2 cities... Well, if they somehow grow beyond th

Julia, I would still like to see a screenshot of the detail screen of an enemy sovereign. That is, select an enemy sovereign, click on the circle in the low left hand corner which displays his portrait, and take a screenshot of his/her stats. You get a screenshot by pressing [Print Screen] on your keyboard. The .jpg file will end up in the My Games\FallenEnchantress\ScreenShots subfolder of your Documents folder.

I have never ran out of metal is a game of mine. I run out of crystal pretty much every game, even after I stopped selling crystal to AIs to finance early wars. But staff units are easily countered by heroes (my tanks all sport 100% resistances) and even with units if you want to design them for a particular resistance. I have never put champion armor on a troop that actually made it to the frontlines, and to upgrade to it is idiotically expensive, but on paper, they would be aw

Are you sure you are not seeing the 10% from "No taxes" or the effects of an enemy enchantment? The 10% are the good-for-nothing that will be stirring trouble as long as there's no watchmen to kick their ass. The enchantment effects are a known bug (or at least, a reported one) I watch these like a hawk, and have to see what you mention.

I suspect the success roll is buggy. The AI often wins quests that involve combat that is simply impossible for the AI's army to win in autoresolve or tactical. Not unlikely, plain impossible, like 0% chance even if the AI rolls the 3% to hit and the enemy rolls the 3% to miss.

If the OP has not made an honest mistake, and forgot to set the AIs to insane (which of course would totally cripple them against an insane world) here is what may be happening: 1. In the beginning, the AIs were still expanding, and thus peaceful. 2. The setting is "epic" which I have never played, but very likely it has slowed down the AI a lot, and they feel they are not ready for war. 3. By using his sovereign's advantages, the player got a ton of high level her

One approach is to play a build that can handle really dangerous beasties very early. My favorite for this is Krax blood + Dodging assassin + Blindness. Another is to conquer the first AI you encounter. Get them early enough, and it's not that hard.

I love to see how other people play, and this format really works. Thanks for posting. By the way, you are absolutely right, binding trumps 100 eyes, and x/5/1 was the right choice for the starting city. Good luck with the game... and before you fight any AI troops, take a GOOD look at their traits. If you have not played ridiculous before, you may be surprised by what you see.
