there should be much much harder quests and much better armor. think legendary weapons and such that can tip the balance of a war with the great power they grant your sovereign. relics of the old titans, made of metals that no longer exist, etc.

i also agree, magic needs more power. a extremely high level caster should probably reach near godlike proportions, reshaping the land to his will. terraforming, changing, benefiting his people with his encyclopedic knowledge of spells. as of now he's a half-powered auxilary to the 9 unit footman stacks. horses are rare (stalker is pretty cool, too)
afaik the ability to choose the book of summoning at start was possible in 1.0, but was removed and made research-only past 1.05, so if your sovereign was created before that he might have it. i think.

much love.
why can't things run on dreams in real life [e digicons]:'([/e]
could be. it does need some love though, the bugs are still very much alive, tragically. the gameplay could use a bit of tuning, balance is a bit off (infinite jewelry, unit stacks, useless champions, magic lackluster) give it a month perhaps if you aren't too keen on playing it right now. stardock are bros, though. they'll get it sorted, be patient.
if you had any hope of actually discussing gameplay issues in this thread, let it die now. you made a holy grail reference in a pile of fantasy geeks.
i laughed, heh. real problems, though.
yep. having the same problem. it's a memory leak. there's nothing you can really do on your end, except restarting the game every now and then. stardock will fix it, have faith.
it's a memory leak, and a rather large one. takes up 6 gb of ram/swap after about an hour of play I even have problems with that and performance and I'm on a similar i7 with 8GB of RAM As a 32bit program, Elemental can only use up to 2GB regardless how much RAM you have. Please direct performance discussions to the main thread on the subject here.
</
it's a memory leak, and a rather large one. takes up 6 gb of ram/swap after about an hour of play, and eventually crashes with an out of memory error for me pheom II 4870 here
i don't suppose this fixes the rampant memory leaks? (is anyone else getting those? ate 4gb of high-speed ram and 2 gig of swap in an hour)
i once had a son with 70 mana, but that is quite insane.
afaik, the vanilla level 1 teleport is supposed to be sov only, considering there is a much higher level ;teleport group; spell.
agreed on all points, listen to this fellow stardock~ the game is great, but there are a few nasty bugs remaining, and some of the game isn't very intuitive or poorly explained.
not really ross. if a sovereign goes down in enemy territory. he's dead, and the faction is dissolved.
ah, my forum-fu is less prevalent today than most days~
imo, champions should be changed. their power doesn't scale very well, as even a extremely well-equipped level 10 hero can be instakilled by unit stacks and some of the nastier wilderness monsters. perhaps make them start out as small-time rat hunting adventurers, and as they get better their power scales on a large curve. starting on a level slightly above average fighter, and on the higher levels be a magically equipped combat master, able to take on 20 guys all by themselves, inspiring nea
internet love machine. actually everything is working surprisingly well. though you definitely have some atrocious memory leaks to find (sucked up 4gb of ram and a 10gb swap file in an hour, yikes)
no spy units, use the spell 'reveal' which reveals tiles wherever you like.
