i like both but typically end up going with the no outlines.
mocachild
awesome!
you got it! thanks
in my game i received the hummingbird pike and it says in it's description that it allows the user to summon an air elemental in tactical combat. however, once equipped, the option to summon the air elemental never appears. i've tried using it in several battles and there was no change.
ahh. thanks a bunch. missed that little tidbit.
i have researched the ability to recruit level 5 champions but any champion above level 3 is not available. it keeps telling me that i have to research the ability to recruit level 4 or level 5 etc. champions. so i think something is definitely off.
same thing happens here. it was happening to me in the previous beta version too.
a few notable locations are invisible in my game. all that shows up is a glowing ball and the notable location symbol. when zooming out to the cloth map and then zoom back in, sometimes the locations will generate their graphic and sometimes not.
this might be a really stupid question, but if caravans are gone how does Carrodus' starting ability work now? I believe his ability states that his caravans can't be attack (moot point now), and that they generate that diplomatic currency (sorry i'm not in the game at the moment and haven't memorized all the terms). So with caravans gone does this ability still function at all?
well, I can say that it isn't just from a loaded saved game. I started my first game in a really lousy spot so I hit Ctrl N and the game crashed to the desktop.
For some reason the game does not give me the victory after my sovereign casts the spell. i've tried it a number of times and the game gives me all the sounds effects but nothing else. the game just keeps on going like i never cast the spell.
that's a good point. in essence though it's kinda 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other. i guess weighing as many pros and cons of both systems could help make a "best choice" as i personally do not believe there is a perfect solution (just a better one). then again the specialization could come after level 2 when you actually have something more than just a village. in the meantime there could be generic (basic) production, growth, and military buil
some interesting ideas. i already "specialize" my cities in regards to growth cities (number of food with buildings that enhance this...this in turn increases gold so i build my gold generating buildings here as well. my second city usually focuses on production finding a spot that has a lot of materials. i then build my production bonus buildings in this city etc. I think this works pretty well, but i do really like your idea of an increased specialization for each ci
i have no idea if this is a bad or a good idea but i suppose the game could limit the amount of champions a faction could have or limit the number of heroes that can be in a stack. i don't know....maybe having a tech or a trait for your sovereign that dictates the number of champions that sovereign can recruit (or even how many champions can be placed in an army stack). maybe this would encourage more army stacks wandering around with just 1 champion in them or some
got to the last stages of my first game. went the questing route and for some reason non of the epic quest locations were working. In one quest I was able to get to the combat and after defeating my foe was able to continue delving deeper. Finally, after a few rounds of fighting and going deeper into the dungeon the quest just quit on me. it said "now it's time to explore the castle" or something of a very very similar nature. however, nothing happened.
Not sure if this has already been posted but, when using the Hiergamenon, it will not allow me to click on any other entries. It is stuck only on the current entry. The only thing I can click on is the close button. I can't even scroll through the lists using the arrows.
i know but he didn't attack a town. he attacked my sov. out in the middle of nowhere. i didn't think they did that. i know that they may attack an undefended town but apparently they attack units too. though if this is actually the case and not a bug then we shouldn't be penalized for killing them in self defense.
he didn't attack my town, he attacked me directly. i was nowhere near a town. but oh well. i reloaded and he didn't do it that time for some reason.
hmmm. this is the second time this has happened to me. at first someone from the forums thought that it must have been a creature-adventurer, but in my newest game i ran past a merchant hero lvl. 1. talked to him, decided i didn't want him so i said no thanks. next turn he attacks me. i beat him in battle and was accused of being a murder. what the heck is up with that?
what does this spell do specifically. the description is less than helpful. does it shut down production of food, decrease unit defense etc.?
thanks a bunch for the replies all. that at least gives me some idea as to what's going on. again thanks for the info
anybody?
ok, this is another topic i can't seem to find an answer to in the forums already so if it has been covered forgive me. does anyone understand how the hit/miss mechanic works in general. i have a group of 8 staff wielders 24 attack attacking one guy with 5 defense. they keep missing the guy. then my 4 group swordmen come along with attack around the same as the staff wielders and hit the guy every attack. i'm confused. my staff wielders seem to miss a lot i
ahhh. thanks for the replies. yeah, they are the creature-adventurer. i didn't realize that was different. my first game and all. i don't know why i got that message from the first one that attacked but hopefully it didn't affect my game any. thanks for the clarification.
i'm sorry if this has been answered but i cannot find a post about this here. for some reason early in my game a wandering champion attacked me. after i killed him a message stating that i was a monster popped up. now i can't hire any champions at all. what gives? why was i attacked firstly, and second, why do they hate me for defending myself? oh, and third, is there anyway to change their perceptions of me? thanks for your pat
