I'm pretty big on manuals being useful and addendums being added (or parts being rewritten) when significant changes take place. Will there be a .pdf file that functions as an updated manual so that players who have been watching the development from the side won't have to dig for information and can have it handily at their side when playing? This would be a big boon for the community and disheartened players. [e digicons][/e]
The longest part of my day is waking up to early to head into the Stardock office. I'm anxious to get back to work. What a great job. I spent yesterday helping to make the spells more exciting, but so far my focus has been on process. We will create a consistent design, we will document that design, we will march toward implementing that design. Flexibility is import
One of the things people like about our office is the hallway-long whiteboard wall that the games team uses for a variety of purposes. Right now there are several to-do lists for 1.1 and beyond, a rundown of sales for our various titles, and a HUGE ‘wish list’ of Elemental features/tweaks players and press have requested. In fact, we’ve switched from writing the suggestions down and now simply print out feedback lists and tape them to the wall.<b

[e digicons][/e] Truth be told, it will get me to play Elemental again and do something to help my serious disillusion with this game and PC gaming. Too
While an updated PDF would be nice, all updates have a changelog which contains verbose descriptions of all things updated. Since it seems that the core mechanics of the game are going to be changed, I would assume that Stardock will keep their Elemental page updated with the relevant information. "Check the wiki" may not be a valid response to you, but "Check the Elemental website" can very well be. Also, as long as the Hierga

I had a good time reading the manual while the game was installing and it led me to believe that the game was going to be something pretty damn good. The manual was quite informative at the time, even though the game quite clearly didn't work, and appreciably reflected what players can expect in the game and helped them to understand key game concepts. The game has since changed in serious ways and is going to keep changing. Unfortunately, it seems more than likely that Stardock is go

"These days, it seems like everyone wants to be a “game designer”." I am fairly confident that this will be taken amiss but I do think that it is important to post and, with any luck, it will remain posted and not start some sort of flame war. That said, it is not my intention to start a flame war but to post a very concise and bold point that has become more and more the case in recent years. Everyone doesn't want to be a game designer, everyone just has a whole b
Try Age of Wonders Shadow Magic and come back to this game in in a couple of months.
Oh, I absolutely LOVED the Age of Wonders series. I think you are referring to the expansion to the second game and I did not have the chance to play that. I'd purchase them from Impulse after seeing them go up, but when only the first game was offered for sale and the AoW site said they were all up I contacted Impulse support to see what was up

I bought Elemental the day it came out for my girlfriend and I to play together. At launch, along with everyone else, we found a game that was incomplete and, surprisingly, had a company trying desperately to fix it so that it could reach a legitimate retail-worthy condition as soon as possible. The Stardock folks have been trying like hell, too, and we all have to give them credit for that despite the game being put out in the condition we received it. In any event, I asked her if she wanted

I finished my first game this morning and, despite the incredibly annoying problems (see my post in the Support section of this forum), I had a great time with the game. Truly, once this game is finished it's going to be something incredible! When I finished the game I was treated to a mini-cinematic and a score: 81. What in the blue hell does that even mean? There was no text to tell me what 81 was in relation to or why that should even m
not really a bug. the game just needs a dramatic rework in many areas, including combat.
This is the best and most concise way to put it. You, the OP, and this is who I mean as 'you' despite quoting another, would be surprised how many times you can miss, even when the enemy unit is peon-esque with a 0 defence rating. That said, enemies do seem to get remarkably strong for their level even when there is just one. <p

Frogboy's posts took me off the fence. Instead of being someone waiting for Elemental to reach a 'finished' state before I played I am someone who is actually playing the game...just not a pay-to-beta-plus-test-our-game kind of player. I've only played this game in the 1.07 incarnation even though I purchased it on launch day, therefore i am not in any way familiar with what changed in-game save for what I've read in the Dev Journals. Kudos for doing this, that little thing called personal responsibility. All decisions that companies make come down to personal decisions, decisions made by people, and you and the folks at Stardock have rightly recognised this. It has become the way of game-making to simply release stuff that is bugged and glitches, for publishers and developers to not do their part to address issues, so much so that customers as a whole are so jaded and cynical they don't bother to report much and actually
It’s been, as you can imagine, a horrible horrible couple of weeks. We’re doing out best to make sure Elemental lives up to its potential which brings me to the final part. Elemental’s original release schedule was to have the first release (War of Magic – Book 1: Relias) and 2 expansion packs (Book 2: Cerena and Book 3: Magesta). What we’re going to do is that for users who own the game by a certain date will

When I click the Multiplayer button I receive the following message: "Multiplayer is not enabled in this build. We are working to update multiplayer based on the single-player feedback." Stardock, you folks definitely deserve credit for keeping after this game and updating it but the above message is not acceptable . I say this because Elemental was advertised as a completed game and you need to be careful to not take for granted the tolerance of the playerbase
Shopped gear can only be used by heroes. Trained units can carry it, but they can only use what they were trained for and cannot be upgraded.
It's a good thing I checked back, there was a helpful response to be found! I do wonder why units can not be upgraded (because we can design units and, well, if we can design them it makes sense to give us the flexibility to upgrade them) and why units can be packmules. If I wanted something

I am having a similar problem and am just blown away by it, that is of course if I am looking at it correctly. I am playing the campaign and decided to buy staves for my peasant units. The staff that I purchased and put on Relias had no problems, even switching that to the sword you find in the beginning was easy. I was even able to trade the staff to the unit that helps you found your first settlement and trade the three staves I bought to two peasant militia and another peasant I trained: b
