In my current game, I've fought with Verga and he has one city left, a fortress. Yet he is maintaining a massive army and still making a tiny surplus of gold on 30% taxes. I check on his Oppressor unit which is very similar to my Pariden Destiny's Guard unit. Both have full leather armour, wooden shield and warhammer with three traits. Pariden unit maintenance is 0.9 and Verga's Oppressor maintenance is 0.1. Verga has the Warlord trait -50% to wa

I can hardly believe that we have such decency and values in an ongoing and successful company. Very, very well done. It's like finding a precious jewel while walking along the road. I'd be happy to pay for LH even as a WOM customer. Instead, I've decided to buy the Windows desktop software pack made by Stardock as soon as I reinstall my home PC. It looks fantastic and will help me declutter my desktop and have some nice GUI features. Fallen Encha

Reply to Ascian in Legendary Heroes

I didn't bother and used it on a Bone Ogre. Very tough. I couldn't find the cat either. Cheers, Sword

You can disband units. You've learnt an important part of the game: having enough gold to support your troops and hero. The strategy of the game would be hugely dimished to remove that. Early merchant/market buildings are essential. Cheers, Sword

I forgot to mention Civ 4 - fantastic TBS game! Though I also remember the first time playing Civ1, what a ground breaking game that was! And to top it off, Civ 4 with Fall From Heaven mod was even better! It's so hard to choose a best one from this fine stable of stallions. Cheers, Sword

Xcom (original game, haven't tried the new one yet) Master of Magic Elemental Fallen Enchantress Panzer General Master of Orion 2 I suspect Legendary Heroes might even top MOM for me. ;-) Nothing could top Xcom though. What a fun experience! I still remember the first time I played it on my brother's computer. Cheers, Sword

What is the thinking behind infantry getting +6 moves at start so they leap ahead of everything else? They should all be wearing Flash costumes I think. - Sword

In real life, cavalry often are more vulnerable to archery because they are larger targets and while the rider may be armoured or have a shield, the horse might not have such protection. Archers could potentially be given stakes like that Krax ability. Just like English longbowmen. :) Cheers, Sword

What a fantastic and enlightened attitude to staff and strategic planning. I hope the good ship Stardock navigates the sometimes rough commercial seas and always emerges into the sunshine of solid viability! I wish I could work for such a company. What a dream that would be. Cheers, Sword

These videos are fantastic. What a wonderful company and the game itself is really shaping as the true successor to Master of Magic. I'm enjoying it so much and it is so polished. Bravo! - Sword

Totally disagree, guys. Mana is a precious, precious resource that I find I need a lot of during wars. If your sovereign and champions have useful spells to tip the balance in tough battles or you add enchantments to your heroes and units then mana is quickly drained. Any sort of terraforming generally seems to take quite a number of casts to achieve the tactics described above. I mean, how many casts does it take to make a land bridge or open a valley to an is

I would actually prefer one tile cities, resources on the map and connected to the nearby city if in its influence zone, and a separate city building screen where you can build as much as your heart desires. This allows great sprawling metropolises. This game, like all turn based 4x games, is abstract. But having a city only take one square on the strategic map is that much more "realistic", which helps my immersion. I think of units with x figures in them as represe

Yes, I've used Nullsoft. NSIS is fantastic but takes some time to understand. Cheers, Sword

NSIS is a free installer scripting language that allows one to create installer files. It's unlikely I'll have enough free time to do it but if that changes I'd be happy to whip one up. I note that game supports mods. Why not try putting it in the userprofile\my documents\my games\fallenenchantress\mods\ folder (different path in Win 7), activating Use Mods setting in the game, restart and see if all is good?
