I look at the countdown clock on Steam a few times every day and it's so torturous! I just looked now and it's available to me in 2 days and 23 hours, so I guess that means it's already unlocked for our North American friends? You're so lucky!!

Now that's what you call amazing customer service! [e digicons][/e]

It sounds like you really enjoy the game, so why don't you try to work directly with support? Just give them the info they want and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you fix it as quickly as possible.

It does make you wonder what their QA person actually does to warrant an update to fix a patch to fix a game so quickly!
There's a small but loud crowd who have decided to nix Civ V because of steam. I don't know if it'll be enough to get Firaxis to rethink bundle-locking their game with a controversial service that, while a lot of people like just fine, some loyal fans want nothing to do with.
Judging by the amount of people who have already handed over their money to Firaxis before the game's even available, I don't think they'l

I've just been watching that 8 part "long session" 2K did of it on YouTube and it looks absolutely superb....I can't wait!! I don't care what Civs are included or excluded so long as there's a nice selection to choose from in the beginning and the list appears to be very long!
Wait and use that money to buy Civ 5 next week. Don't listen to the fanboys. This game will be fun in a year, plus it will probably be 30 or 20 bucks by then.
Absolutely +1!

I think Stardock is a great company, but one that is better appreciated retrospectively...or retroactively...not sure which word. It seems that their games are released in not such a great state, but develop into greatness further down the line. I bought Elemental and wasn't impressed or could find anything that drew me back so I got a refund and bought Gal Civ 2 Ultimate with all its exp. packs in the Impulse sale and I think it's superb! I'm guessing I will end up doing the sam

I've read a bit more and I think I'm more inclined to go with GC2 because Sins seems to be more designed for multiplayer and RTS like you said. I love empire building games like the Civ series, so GC2 sounds more up my street! I found the most popular mods too to update the graphics. I'll just do a bit more reading and then I'll prob go for GC2! :)

How about Sins of a Solar Empire? That's also in the sale and both games appear to be very highly rated! They both seem to be 4x games and I'm wondering which is better? @ Thizzbaby, thanks for the Amazon tip but I live in the middle of nowhere in China, so it's safer to go with digital download! :)

Hello all, I've never played any other Stardock games before and I wondered if this was worth getting in the Impulse sale or would it be a bit dated now? The package is on sale for US$39.95 and includes: "Get the complete GalCiv II saga including the acclaimed PC strategy game of the year Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, the award winning expansion pack Dark Avatar, and the newest expansion pack Twilight of the Arnor! The Ultimate Edition ties together the campa

After getting my refund for Elemental I'm so looking forward to the release of Civ 5 and from all the previews & pre-release footage it looks like it's going to be stunning! I'm still going to keep an eye on Elemental though and see how it develops in the future because I'll probably buy it back again in 3-6 months or when it's cheaper.

I think the review was fair. It does come over as harsh, but everything that was written was factually correct and you only need to look through these forums to see a vast number of users echoing the same words. In fairness, the reviewer did say that the game has potential for those fans who are prepared to wait it out and from what I can tell, that is exactly what people are also saying here. I'm not one of them. I got caught up in the hype days before the release and went ahead and

Big respect and thumbs up to the devs and everyone providing feedback to make the game as good as it possibly can be! I look forward to start playing it once again when all the major fixes and improvements have been implemented.

I don't love the game or hate it, I just think it's OK. I do think it was bad business to release it so early and so bug-ridden after people have paid good money for something, or anything you buy, that should be in proper working order. Fortunately they were on the ball with patches and a lot of people have forgiven them for that, but that said, the bad reviews were deserved. I also think all the sucking up is just in the hope that future patches will come thick and fast and I don't think an

Stardock hamsters...please hurry...grease the wheels....giv'em some sesame seeds spiked with somethin....otherwise there's gonna be a big ATI vs NV argument while people wait! IMO they are both great companies and they both make great cards! [e digicons]:D[/e] **Edit** Yay! Downloading!! Much respect and great appreciation from Shanghai [e digicons]:w00t:[/e]

"If you have an ATI card with Windows 7 64-bit, make sure you have updated to the latest drivers. We have verified with AMD that the pre-July cards had a memory issue." I think the latest drivers are 10.7, which I have, so I'm hoping all will be OK. ATI update their drivers so often with hotifxes etc, it's hard to keep track!
