^^have to agree with you there... i was finally able to log about 2 hours of play last night (got the kids off to bed early!)... i never participated in any of the betas, and my sole exposure to the interface has been via youtube videos, and forum posts / tutorials here... it took me all of 20 minutes to get the hang of what i was doing, and once i was comfortable with the interface, i was tooling around the campaign with no problem whatsoever... yes, the campaign... i said it
well said brad... take some well-earned time off... we'll be right where you left us... oh, and we love you too! ;)

thanks for the well thought-out message Cale! p.s. i have desk envy...
excellent work Nenjin... while i havent had a chance to play more than 45 minutes myself, i certainly appreciate someone taking the time to give such a detailed report on their particular experiences with the game...
hey, congrats winners! /me is envious

does my suggestion here seem viable? perhaps some enterprising mod maker could actually make a fleshed out tutorial of sorts using the mod tools? https://forums.elementalgame.com/391949
so, i havent even had a chance to play the game yet (chomping at the bits mind you)... but perusing the forums, there are a number of posts raising concerns about simply getting started... and that the campaign doesnt provide adequate direction... silly question: is it theoretically possible to create a "tutorial" of sorts using the mod tools?
trade increases gildar production, i think it also spreads around excess food, thats how you feed a city if you find a good spot with lots of resources but no fertile ground... i think, could be wrong, but it seemed like thats what it did.
i thought i heard in one of the recent video tutorials that food was also global resource (brad pointed this out as one of the areas where EWoM differs from other 4x games)... this enables player
wow!! :) are all those rings and amulets equipped? how many items can you equip on a unit?
i believe it increases the revenue generated amongst your connected towns...
excellent review... thanks for taking the time to share your experiences... makes my wait just that much less agonizing... ;)
holy barrage of videos frogboy! thanks!!
Fixed a crash related to children being born during a reloaded saved game that could cause a crash on 64-bit machines wow, now thats a specific scenario to have accounted for... :)
/me is feeling even more confident about his forthcoming purchase
thanks xan... i appreciate the well-rounded review... its constructive feedback like this that can only help further refine the game...
hi revenent... unfortunately, you pose a very subjective question... ultimately, its entirely up to you, but given Stardocks trackrecord, you can rest asssured that they will be patching the game rather feverishly... there is a 0-day patch (tomorrow) i believe... im somewhat in your boat - im waiting until the game is out for a week before making my purchase, and will get the (hopefully) cumulative updates at that time... will be the longest freaking week, but will be well wo
well, gold/gildar was just the example... i think the underlying message was to have more explanation in the tutorial videos...
Food. Okay, so my cities can't grow without enough food, and there are no natural food resources nearby - what are my options? I beleive you can build farms in your city, correct?
while i have yet to play the game for myself, i appreciate the OP taking the time to put together such a detailed list... constructive criticism can only help! [e digicons][/e]
excellent! even though i wont have my copy for a day or so, last night was a blast! hadnt been in an IRC room in quite a while... :)
/me golf claps
ahhh yes... and i can look back someday and say "hey! i was a part of that madness!!" ;)
