Champion or character level does not equal your faction's quest level. Instead, the game distinguishes several adventure related faction and world levels. Yes, sounds complicated at first. Basically its monster & heroes level, quest level, notable location (or goodie huts) level and hidden resource level. All of them again for your individual faction and the world in general. The world level is thereby seemingly always the highest level across all the factions. The

Have a look here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/392701 The game distinguishes varies adventure related levels and those also again into a general world level and your own / your faction level. E.g. a general world monster level, a general notable location level and then your notable location and quest levels. These levels are to my knowledge tied to specific branches in the adventure tech tree, not the ove

For the kingdoms there seem to be three path in the adventure tech research ... and although I don't remember the actual names, their order seems to constant. So let's just call them No.1-3 No.1 - This seems to be the Heroes and Monster level branch. Researching it increases the level of spawning monster and champions for hire. If you don't like a dragon in your backyard beware of this branch. <ul style="list-style-ty

Is this also true for shards that seem to "spawn" somewhat irregularly, RFHolloway? I think, I remember this not being the case. But I could be wrong. Mostly I just accidentally find a new shard when I use the cloth map for a change. Rabenhoff

After looking a bit into some other factions I wonder at the precise effects of both of the New Pariden traits "Influential" and "Civilized" ... hoping that they are called just that. The tooltips seemed very very nice and so far I have played every longer game with them. But how do these traits work in ... well ... numbers? I don't see / feel that the Pariden circle of influence expands faster or is bigger from the start. It's just about the same as with the other factions. And "Civi

I just read the in-game Hiergamenon entry on combat. While lacking in general it hinted at something that I so far have not witnessed in the game. Here it goes: "All attacks have a damage type such as cutting, piercing, blunt, fire, ice, electrical and so forth. Similarly, defenses can be optimized against certain kinds of attacks. If the defending unit has the proper defense type, it always rolls it maximum defence. Thus, it is good to know what s
One of the big things that keeps me away from Elemental right now is the opaqueness and superficiality of the "Hiregamenon" in-game manual.
The "Hiergamenon" is no in-game manual. Its no manual whatsoever. It just a listing of techs, buildings & equipment. Just imagine a "Civilopedia" of a later Civilization game without any explanations on game concepts, lore or history.
I dont think any of the strengths in actuality are doing anything, is the system broken??
The resource multiplier ones are working (i.e. +/- X% to resoruce Y output), but probably not as intented. In my unmodded game they stack upon reloading a savegame. So I and any NPC faction with a similar trait have a +10% bonus before saving and +20% after reloading. The figures for tech research or mine output just go through the roof playing a while. And the arcan

So I was right? Your shopkeeper only likes kings and hates queens. *giggles himself to death* But why offer one kind of cloak to women and another not? Was the colour not right? The boots too red?

Hi I just found myself wishfully thinking about old handbooks like e.g. for "Civilization" (II-IV) or "Age of Wonders II". Everything about the game explained, if you just bothered to look. And nowadays? I seem to spend more time in wikis dedicated to certain games than in the games themself when I start playing ... and apart from EVE Online (I still get nightmares thinking about all the reading I did.), Heart of Iron III (E.g. the bonus of officer ratios above 100% ... explai

Maybe your shopkeeper had a fancy for Yoye and could not stand the queen / aristocracy in general? *evil grin* But back to business. Did you maybe buy the "Traveller's Cloak" and the "Travelling Boots" for the first champion? Maybe he only had one of each in stock and it takes some time to resupply. Or - and I barely dare to ask - did the queen maybe already have these items? *digs himself a hole to survive the flame* Rabenhoff
On a related note, how do I set up a route with an AI? The AI in question has even asked me to send a caravan. I have a trade treaty with them. I've sent a caravan from one of my cities but I can't find the button (or mechanic) to allow me to establish a trade route.
You establish those trade routes in the same way you establish them between your own cities. Produce a caravan in one city that still can do so and send it to an AI city instead of one of

/signed I agree with your suggestions, nitey47. Altough I'm a bit clueless about taxes. Never played late-game, as I always run into some game-breaking bug like insanely stacking research bonuses or level 5 monster raids around turn 90 ... but that's another story. As to James009D's remark ...
I'd also like to be able to build a few more trade routes (roads).
What do caravans do right now? Basic roads? I have seen that, but do they

Could it be still hidden goodie huts or quest locations? Just an idea, seeing how low your adventure tech is. This could also be true for the fire shard. In one of my games I had one of those "spawn" / appear over an already existing improvement of mine. Rabenhoff

I'm playing the vanilla game in its current version. No mods whatsoever. After thinking a bit about the problem I tried the corresponding other traits as well, i.e. "Master Smith", "Industrious" and "Superstitious". Same problem. Here the "Master Smith" trait before and after reloading a quicksave game ...this time also without restarting Elemental. Please also not the "double dip". The 25% bonus seems to be counted twice. Once for the base output of the mine before multipliers and then again for the final output after multipliers: <

The "Educated" faction trait is currently seriously broken, the game-breaking kind of broken. [EDIT: and all the other resource related traits as well!] It stacks upon reloading the game, leading to absurd numbers in research. This also seems to be the case for AI factions ... as it would explain the rocket science I witnessed from an otherwise puny Kraxis AI in another game ... breaking this particular game by means of the "monster level - highest respective adventure tech level" relati

You conquered that fallen city, didn't you? If your enemy had by then already build the "Umberdroths Pen" (or whatever it is called), then you can also recruit this unit by controlling this particular city. Yet, I'm not sure whether to call it a feature or a bug, as you did. But in both cases I would vote for getting rid of umberbroths for the Kingdoms or shrills for the Empire. It simply does not fit the lore and feel of the respective faction group. Rabenhoff

Just thought of loading an earlier save game and trying out a few things, but my two "Bug Towns" stay buggy. Building a "Shrill Hive" has no effect whatsoever. Neither in graphics nor in output. Hitting "next turn" a couple of time just led to the numbers of my initial post. Rabenhoff

That sounds very nice. As a king I should be the quest giver, not the one doing all the hard "quest-work" myself ... at least if it's not the "Search for the Holy Grail" kind of quest. *grin* Rabenhoff
