If you think the game looks too hard (I've agreed), remove all Empire Sov's from the list of nations in the game. Empire AI >>>> Kingdom AI. In the last page of game creation Kingdoms are upper line, Empire in lower line.

Sov's (and heroes) shoud have increase of his stats automatically each level, this will help later in the game. Caster ability is great in battlefield but heroes still are too weak.
I'm agreed. Now the city levelling is almost useless.
I don't think the "hard" release is reputation damage. We have 3-4 patches already, in 3 days after release. Yes game looks unfinished and inbalanced but have patience. I don't like histeric.
Yes this game is addictive but I've resisted. [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] On the some stage the game became boring and then follows Alt-F4.

I think the main problem with the release is the obligation to release 24 Aug. If the Release have been delayed the next release date should move to December, and Stardock should have major finance problems. Sorry for my English, Im from Siberia. :) When I saw the Open Beta test not covered all game I have realised that the release will be hard.

Bah I wish to see how you all can beat AI. Im still losing at Normal difficulty. Yes Kingdom empires are joke but any Empire opponent just smash my army with 10 times more forces.
I think Champions are spawned around your fraction. I've seen champions that I cant bribe but can attack - around my Fallen neighbour.
Really Archery can be discovered at lv3-4 of Warfare (don't remember strictly). However maybe it's random... some techs are not opened for given game.

What demons you mean? When I have Elementals in the game the enemy have many stacks with 50+ hp each.

And one more issue - AI bug or so. When AI lost the city their units targetted to here SHOULD stop and regroup. In my last game I'm conquerred the enemy border city and 2 turns have 2-5 combats with late reinforcements. It's quite strange to attack city with ~500 defending forces by one-two units with combined power less than 100? But AI did.
Now in the game there are big issues of balance; some can be easily fixed but some are complicated. E.g. Summons, Archery-Melee, Stacked unit, High-Level spells - almost any combat aspects that are more complex than just fighting of two heroes with bare hands.
One more issue I've met - Archery units have great advantage against melee on early stages - but they have the same Att or even more, and can be researched early, and don't need any extra resources like Metal or so. The first bow can be researched at, say, lv4-5 of Warfare - to get bow with attack of 3. But on next level you can - and should - research Adv. Archery to get Bow with Attack 6. Why to use bow with 3 att lol? It's twise as weak, can't deal with any armor - and costs not ha
I think one major bug with Imbue Champion spell - it should NOT be targtetted on land but you should SELECT HERO. Usually I have many heroes in the pack, and this spell just select one of these heroes - maybe with smallest internal ID. But I need to point - where to put my brilliant Essence. Why it's wasted in that terrible way?
I have some issues in Performance (not critical), have spotted some AI's bugs, but Balance is very bad really.
I think the game is not yet finished... Have critical errors, crashes; combat system have inbalance between melee and ranged weapons; stack concept is broken. But the playing is addictive. :)
I have cast some of city enchantments - you should focus the main square of city. But I can't target units when stationed in the city. E.g. can't cast "Stone Skin" or "Summon Familiar" when caster in the city.
The wounded unit really fights as full, it can be easily proven - I've lost some new units when striked enemy with 1-10 hp and they retaliate me with 30+ hp with 45 total attack (of all stack). And one more issue - Military strength of the armies (at top-left and top-right corners of combat screen) are not updated when units die in combat. Update occurs only when combat is finished.
Today I have the first big war in my game and have faced many issues - maybe not bugs but annoying things. 1st and main - the concept of Grouping units is completely broken. When you have group of soldiers, it should be a set of soldiers who can die and combat and the strength of group will lower.
