ty for answers and support i think, my mod only show the way, how it can be more harder and interest maybe core developers take this point, and some change game mechanic, link techs, quests on map, buildings. For example - you research legend about someone with big flail, then search map for it grave, take artifact flail, and if you have at least one blacksmith building - you can research and produce flails for your army. Yeah, i swap name of "Lord Hammer", bec

ok, but if you need some core tech (for rebalancing) - you need new file, yes? but it don't work try copy you Techs_Amarian.xml to mod folder, change 1 letter and try spot changes in game. It don't work so you need rebuild cache for rebalance tech mods
okay, yesterday someone in Impulse chat give me the clue, how i can use my techtree Remember? CoreArmor.xml, CoreMounts.xml, CoreWeapons.xml - all properly working from mod-folder, but Techs_Amarian.xml,Techs_Trog.xml - not So there simple instruction: 1. clear mod-folder and user/documents folder from manually changed xml 2. put changes directly into core files 3. rename Elemental War of Magic\data\Data.zip to something like data.old 4. r
Quoting Galahed, reply 72Wintersong Shouldn't the values be 1 instead of 0?
I think no, perhaps value - is lvl of technology. But dont'sure, anyway all technologies have preq value=0
You can acquired techs from buildings i think, but not direct I don't sure that work, idea simple: look at seafaring tech and ship units. Ship unit prerequisite Port. If you copy this strings to tech tree, and change Port on something else (another building) - maybe it work (direct) If not - you can give you player ability with building, and link prerequisite from tech to it (workaround) In any case, i just cannot atm modify techtree, because game use core tech
no, i put these files into mod folder if you want mode files - you need put em to player directory like "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Documents\My Games\Elemental\" or in mod directory in root of game folder. When game start - files in this folders swap core game files. If you change core files manually - it just don't influence to game at all. so - all my mount and items changes works well, but techs don't work, maybe some errors in xml files
2Wintersong hm, i don't create new techs, just add some prereq for existing Maybe it good idea, and you be interest too. Suggestion simple: Atm techs get very easy - so if you want get superior weapon - you spend about 5 breakthrough and get it. I am added links warfare with other branches, for example: Blunt_Weapons_Amarian - required Blacksmithing_Amarian additional Superior_Blunt_We
Hi, i have same problem. Copy CoreArmor.xml to Mods folder, change it - all works fine, then copy and change Techs_Trog.xml - it seems didn't worked, because i don't seen change in the game What i should do? TechTree_Trog.xml is important or it just compilation names of techs for proper reading?
Have good holiday!
I think all crashes and memory leaks will be fixed in month or two, rebalance tech tree and learn AI - too come soon So all these stuff does not matter for me, because i have fun from game right now, without waiting for more. Here some yesterday report: Yesterday i have game in large map with extreme lvl of difficulty. And first at all - i don't use peace treaty at all. Game have been more challenge. I still can conquer their towns with lack of defend units by
If you’re able to beat the AI at harder settings, please feel free to post your strategies and such. I am not only happy to incorporate your strategies into the AI but relish doing so.
Okay, first at all - i spot 2 different switchers of difficult, in 1 and 4 screens of starting new game. <a href="http://galahed.
I think very hard just release game - with all these manuals, crashes, glitches and other stuff, which you don't want to do, maybe, but it necessary. And now, you can rest and take some kind of reward - do, what you want to do. I mean: developing AI, creating quests, invent new techs for tech tree, put some new in gameplay, some different ways of playing at all. Base already here (it hardest part), so you can easy advance it, and it cool. I am glad to see change in balance in
I don't feel this game as beta. It have some problems, but with patches - all be ok. Some rebalancing work i think needed too (), and work on AI, but if you planned support this game about 2 years, or even more - i think this game will be shine like rare diamond. Maybe players will create huge expansion pack, like Fall form Heaven for Civ., so it too will be nice. What reason for later release, if game in phase, able to playing and need in players opinion for further advance? I

I think you love THIS campaign because

As great games of past this one ask you just try something and look as it work. Bribe companion? - oh, ok, spent gold. Build? okay less coin remain. Buying equipment? Okay it clear. Gold for that. And tooltips very helpful too, because before you spent gold - you see what you will do. I think it normal, the
It good to see that Kingdom grow and playing still very interesting. I am unhappy (like thousands of other players i think) with delayed release in Russia and start to think preorder (or just buying) game on Impulse. It expensive and on english but ... but we must doing what we want, otherwise life seems to loose sense :-/ Anyway, good playing to all today :)
Read this thread, i notice, that different kind of ppl interested at different things. Someone want graphic so detailed, so is detailed in first-person shooter with RPG elements - like Oblivion. Other want Sims-detailed dynasty tree, with regents, legacy 2 kingdoms, maybe taking prisoners, gathering ransoms and other stuff things. I think it all will good to see, but this only moments from gameplay, spots and no more, so it
I think very small amount of ppl haven't seen game before and not be able decide what they should do in game. Questions about mod-builders spawn some later i think, after euphoria of having game is dispelled, sandbox is explored and campaign is end So only words of sincere gratitude and admiration will be in chat, and be quite - this team deservedly receive it! Great work!
Question about the Technology treaty.. seems to me Umber is getting a far better deal out of it than you are.. so why do they value it so low?
I think it depend from research potential of faction and maybe level of relationship. Umber get more, because their research base poor compared with player faction

I have suggestion about strength of towns, troops and magic: 1. Town ppl can take fight too - it good idea, because it influence on strategy, so players and AI will be defend city instead of getting open field battle. Citizens can form some untrained troops, enough for pulling balance to defend-side, it number compared with number of town population 2. Bear (natural ally) and fireballs (or lightning, or bolder - doesn't matter) - seems unbalancing game at start. In
I think it good idea, you should spread it to somebody from developers. To Frogboy, for example
