I miss the days when we got games that were finished, and full priced expansions that were worth a damn. Not an intended jab at Elemental as I liked the game as it shipped. That being said, the number companies that have done the whole dlc expansion thing right is pretty short. Gearbox did a fantastic job with the Boarderlands expansions, seeing as it gave us a pretty reasonable amount of new content for a reasonable price. Rockstar did right with GTA4 as each dlc was more like a fu

The ai is definitely playing the game better. They are definitely making better decisions in unit selection department. The ai still needs some help in the city building department. I conquered an empire and ended up demolishing half of the structures due to the fact that they had an insane number of monuments on a level 3 and 4 city and no room to build more stuff. At that point the ai should start scraping structures that aren't necessary for the city to expand so it can

Microsoft hasn't done any thing to destroy the pc industry, the industry has more or less done this to itself over the past few years. 2k has repeatidly shot themselves in the foot by putting terrible drm like games for windows live in their games. Then of course there is the fact that there really hasnt been a lot of worth while titles on the pc lately. The indie game community is about the only thing that has been keeping the pc industry afloat. With the exception of a few noteworthy p
Any chance we can see a late game video with lots of stuff going on at once, cause if it does that late in the game then i will be really impressed.
Quoting KillzEmAllGod, reply 9shame not every reviewer looks past the flaws of a game with the way stardocks fixs things.. Thank goodness there are reviewers who review the actual state of a game, rather than wishes and intentions.
and far too often reviewers fail to consider who made the game and their level of support. look at team fortress 2. the game was solid to begin with and it only shipped with 4 maps and 3 gam
There is something to be said about supporting a game for the long haul. Most developers only support their games for a year to a year and a half. You guys simply entered a market largely dominated by the Civilization games and Elemental is ultimately being compared to GalCiv2 and Sins. I will keep saying its a great game, because it is. It will be an amazing game when you fix all the problems. Personally I think what you did stands out in the crowd. There aren't really
3 updates in 2 weeks keep on rocking
dood that is one long list. hope you are planing on supporting this one for a while as i imagine its going to take at least a couple of months to fix all that. no worries though cause the 4x games are the type i really like to pick up and play on and off. I think master of orion 2 and sins were like the only 2 i would play for hours on end.
Personally i think you guys did a good job. yeah there are some frustrating ui and crash bugs. its all stuff that can be fixed. the bottom line is there is a great game hiding behind all those bugs. I don't take too much stock in what others say. some people are just born to complain about everything under the sun, you fix one problem they find something else to complain about. I experience this often enough in my part time job in the hotel industry. one of my instructors once told me that yo
http://pastebin.ca/1925838 and another crash the first one occurred during campaign the second one occurred before i even started a sandbox game. both seem to be related to alt tabbing to minimize the game in order to correct some of the ui errors i described in my first post
http://pastebin.ca/1925827 the debug info is there as is the info from my dxdiag awesome game aside from a few minor annoyances. there also seems to be more slowdown as the game drags on. not sure if it has to do with how much is going on on screen or if its something behind the scenes but with 2 4850's i shouldn't be seeing any if its graphics related
Couple minor annoyances concerning the cursor. upon start up it tends to cling to the left side of the screen. attempts to bring it to the center do nothing it just stays over on the left side and gets all jittery. is usually corrected by alt tabing. the hit boxes for different windows dont seem to be working too well. at times when i go to close a window in game clicking on the x to close the window doesnt always seem to work. this is especially true when using
