If you go into the load game menu, it will give you details of your save game.

The comparison may not have been a great one, I was merely referring to the radicalness of it. Twilight (in my mind anyways) radically enhanced gameplay. Whereas with the Elemental expansion will radically change gameplay.
Yea, I don't think there is much disagreement (or any for that matter) on where our developer resources should be going. If you ask an AI guy what they think needs the most work they're going to say AI. If you has a UI guy what they think needs the most work, they'll say UI. I think people are going to be surprised at how radically the expansion is going to change the game.
That las

It was pointless to even try to upgrade their defenses since the AI would never attack them unless they knew they could blow it up, and that was very very easy to do by early mid game. Heck, even 1 ship with 45 HP worth of fire power (pretty easy to get) would 1 shot a fully upgraded starbase. Over

There goes my idea!
After some messing around, it seems like the tag can't be Champion. The only way I've gotten it to work is to use the InternalName (so it's the same as what you put in StrVal).
One thing you can do, is to move all your old files into the Mods directory. The update never touches those folders in there. Just remember when you update though, like mentioned above, you may end up breaking things. But at least your stuff wont be deleted. (Oh yeah, and your files are read into Elemental too, so its not like you have to move anything again).
I believe the engine will assume anything above 1 IS 1.

I don't know, maybe I secretly wanted it to be GC3. I also am not a fan of RTS', so that doesn't help. Yes, I know it's slow, and almost turn based, but it isn't. This always bothered me. It also didn't draw me in as much as GC did. Even though I got my ass handed to me quite a bit in
1) Cool, I will leave you to it then. I trust you do not need my nerd support to come up with interesting groupings of abilities for NPC's. If you are interested, just let me know... "String quests" sound like both a lot of work and fun, go for it. Nice to know you are integrating Artifact, makes life simpler for the multi-mod folks. 2) Well that makes sense, although it does suck as a limitation. Have you considered adding in some sup
@Impinc: The new skeletons are fantastic, just had to say. And you asked for ideas, here are two for a start: 1) Military Leader NPC's: I think these would be higher level recruits, and should focus on leading armies rather than just being personally kick ass. They should have some basic equipment, probably of the same level as them (no padded armour) Since your aware of kenata's abilities, I might be preaching to the choir, but something along
I'd say get GC2 UE. I've been watching it for a while now, and it never seems to go on sale (beyond the $40 for the ultimate edition). $40 is DEFINITELY worth it!

The other thing diplomatic capital does is boost your relations with other factions. So, it basically allows you to have a lower combat rating without the AI always wanting to declare war.
Kenata a note about lifesteal. It doesn't work as advertised. It actually drains HP from the target AND the caster. Hell, half the time it completely drains the caster of ALL HP. When I mentioned this to Boogie, he seemed surprised it was still in the game (although its from a spellbook which isnt used anymore). EDIT: Doh, Abraxas beat me to the punch. Also, didn't they remove morale?
I have no idea, I've never used them :).
I believe they are supposed to generate diplomatic capital.
Playing coy are we, Xia? Trying to get on his good side? I thought you were Brad's lovechild/plaything. Are you shifting loyalties now?
That is a pretty unlikely wish, but I think that a lot of the problems with the game can be fixed with some hard work and determination. The only area I am really concerned about it the tactical battles, since they are so fundamentally flawed, you can't just remodel that house, you have to rip it down and build a new one. It can be a fun, good game I think with everything else fixed or improved, but unless they truly redo the tactical b
Just another note regarding this issue. I went and removed all the filenames from the monster medallions in the ACP mod. This then caused the game to not read the level milestones (causing some higher level monsters to have no att or def). Granted, I probably should have just removed the medallion tag all together before. After completely removing the medallion tag, things work fine. I guess this goes along with referencing a non-existant file. It's just strange that it affected level milesto
