I respected stardock in large part because they wrote the gamers bill of rights. Now they are completely throwing it out the window as soon as it effects them negatively?
I support giving refunds if we are disatisfied. Can we get a refund on this game?
You can only get a 75% refund. :(
I don't think they could afford to do this. The problem with thin clients is that stardock would need a ton of CPU power for every client that connects. That is why you hardly ever see thin-clients, because it just doesn't make sense for the company to run a massive server farm when they could just get the client to do it.
I was saying get a refund. You cant get a refund?
You can get a partial refund, but not a full refund. I wanted a full refund so I could repurchase the game later if it has multiplayer and is in a more finished state.
To be fair, I think they do feel ashamed. Brad has as much as admitted it. Not sure what else you are looking for other than repeating what has already been said and accepted.
If they were really ashamed they'd be giving refunds. I'm very annoyed that I payed 50 dollars for a multiplayer game that has no multiplayer and can't get a refund. Its bad enough that they released an unfinished game, but to not inclu

In it's current state, this game is not worth keeping. But I guess I'll keep my measly $50 deposited in Stardock's account for a while longer, in hopes they'll turn this lump of coal into the diamond their other games are.
They won't give you a full refund anyway.
Not worth it in my opinion. It might be better in 4 months, but I'm pretty disappointed.
Haha, I posted a very polite transcript of my emails asking for a refund due to lack of multiplayer and stardock deletes it. I've lost all respect for them and they will not be getting another cent from me through impulse.

Well, I'm pretty disappointed in Stardock at this point, and figured I'd post a transcript of my attempt to get a refund(names redacted). In short, they don't give refunds when half a game is missing. Krelk: Hi, I'm wondering if I could get a refund on "Elemental War of Magic". It was advertised as having multiplayer and was the main reason I bought it, but there is no multiplayer and I haven't heard any concrete word on w
I find it completely dumb that they won't give a refund because its missing multiplayer. Apparently missing a huge chunk of the game doesn't count as a "technical issue". Stardock has pretty much lost all of my respect at this point.
No, it should not have started at 1.07. This game won't be ready for release for another 3 months. I'm also really annoyed they won't give me a refund for the lack of multiplayer. :(
Annoyingly they don't seem to be giving full refunds for the lack of multiplayer, citing that its not a technical issue. It IS a big technical issue. I paid 50 dollars so I could play some fun civ-like fantasy fun with my roommate. The store page said it had multiplayer. Yet here I am totally not playing multiplayer right now! I'd be just as annoyed if the game didn't include include its other advertised features, such as intergrated editors or randomly generat
Civ 4 was pretty moddable as well as far as I remember. I don't know how easy it was, but I think some of the expansions came with some interesting mods that pretty much turned civ 4 into a completely different game.
Keep in mind, even if/when they do get MP, there may be no tactical battles. TBs are THE reason we play games like this. That's why we found cities; build buildings; tech up; and raise armies. You hope to have many climactic, epic battles throughout the game. A pop-up box instead? No thanks.
To be honest, the tactical battles didn't really look very interesting anyway. I
Key features are usually implied with launch. It would like launching the game without graphics. I've asked for a refund. If they give it to me, I'll repurchase in 3 - 4 months if the game state sounds okay(and has multiplayer). If not I think I'll keep steam as my main source of games and be pretty disappointed in stardock.
Multiplayer. Except that I already purchased thinking multiplayer was a feature.
I've heard mixed messages. Any chance for some official confirmation?
It would be nice. Most of the spells I've been skipping over because I have no idea why making a hill tile would useful and such. The summoning ones are pretty much the only ones I've used because they are self-explanatory.
They need to enable multiplayer.
I don't mind if its just as unfinished as the single player(well, I do mind, but that is another topic), but it should still be included. When I bought the game it said it includes multiplayer. Yet here we are without it.

After the launch of Demigod, the team is trying to be very careful with how MP gets unveiled. Is multiplayer still due for this week?
