I agree with having the "Would you like to save before you quit?" dialogue. Also, a good thing to do is turn Auto Save on and set it to save every 1 turn. So the most you lose is what you did in the current turn. And you also have the option of loading the previous autosave (from the previous turn) and save that as a permanent save if you want. What do others think? Best regards, Steven.
All those numbers! Usually a bigger number means a more high-tech piece of equipment, but not quite always. ;-) Don't worry, they were just having a little dig (minor joke). There was no malice intended. [e digicons]|-)[/e] Best regards, Steven.
I think that there are enough differences between MOM and Elemental for Elemental not to be just a remake of MOM (I define "remake" as basically same game with new graphics). However, the game web-site is called "warlordsplayonline.com". I don't think Elemental ever included MOM's name or title in its web address... even at the start, AFAIK. Best regards, Steven.
Frogboy, is any of this stuff going to make its way into the first major release? Best regards, Steven.
I agree. Best regards, Steven.
Good ideas. Best regards, Steven.
Well, is it okay to start a project that is very similar to another game and uses similar names for creatures etc., and then sell it, relying on the previous game to sell? All the other remakes for older games that I know of are completely free. Best regards, Steven.
This thread is interesting... Best regards, Steven.
So you could have a custom, militarily focussed civ (eg. some of the LOTR factions)? If you really customized the tech tree for a particular map or campaign, you could make militarily oriented Sovereigns, or Sovereigns with custom spells that only that faction can use, with or without standard spells and spell books (for example various factions in LOTR). What do you think of an option for map-makers and mod-makers to have custom spell books, or start a Sovereign without any spell
However if you visit the quest hut, any building is removed when the quest hut is removed. (Like when you build resource buildings just outside your borders, it is removed the next turn and the resources to build it may be lost.) Best regards, Steven.
I tried using Chrome but that didn't work, so I tried Firefox and it did work. [e digicons]|-)[/e] (I'd really like to try this out, but is there any other download site you could use? [e digicons]^_^'[/e] Could it be Google Docs file download shared link, or don't you like sharing things on that/not enough bandwidth? [e digicons]^_^[/e] ) Best regards, Steven.
So what do you think would have been a better way of doing things? A more limited beta process do you think? Best regards, Steven.
Great ideas! Frogboy, what do you think? Best regards, Steven.
Good ideas. [e digicons][/e] Best regards, Steven.
Me too. Best regards, Steven.
Cool. [e digicons]B)[/e] I like your post. Best regards, Steven.
Still, he is as human (as far as a frog can be human, anyways :P) as the rest of us. Occasionally he gets a little melancholy and protective. But I think the majority of people post on these forums because they care about Stardock, Frogboy and Elemental, and I think that is important too. [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e] Often, the motives behind something someone does can be as important as what exactly they do. [e digicons]|-)[/e] [e digicons]:sun:[/e] [e digicons]^_^[
Well, I was a bit worried, but I'm not anymore, thanks to Stardock's dedication and Draginol's post in this thread. I think the final game will be excellent and will evolve too. [e digicons]:D[/e] I'd like to thank Frogboy and all the team for allowing us to be part of this process, and taking on board a lot of our ideas. Kudos, Gracious! (if I got that Mexican? word right ;-)) So, than
Is it possible to rebalance the units in Elven Legacy to be used in custom maps and campaigns? Best regards, Steven.
You make some good points. Best regards, Steven.
How is the hunt going for the cause of the memory leaks, Frogboy? Do you think you will be able to fix it in time for the big final version/release? It is a game-breaking bug (and would probably seriously affect reviews) but I am 100% sure you already know that. Best regards, Steven.
Sounds a great way to have regular units have experience and still be able to merge stacks. [e digicons][/e] Best regards, Steven.
I thought you said you were canning ranged attacks on the Strategic map for balance and logic reasons? Best regards, Steven.
Excellent idea. [e digicons][/e] Best regards, Steven.
