I had this problem also, even after researching harvesting, farming & advanced farming. A second game had similar problems for a while, though eventually I was able to build a farm. It was unclear what eventually allowed it. Some way to check what buildings we cannot yet build & why would be nice, because I'm still unclear whether there was some reason I was being prevented from building a farm.

I just pre-ordered, and am seriously stoked to have a chance to participate in the beta. And I don't use the word stoked very often, if ever. If any of you folks have pointers for someone just getting into the game, I'd love to hear them. I realize everyone else is just as new to Beta 3 as I am, but I know there's a pretty good sized set of knowledge about the basics of starting out that I'd appreciate the opportunity to tap into.
