New Player Intro?

I just pre-ordered, and am seriously stoked to have a chance to participate in the beta. And I don't use the word stoked very often, if ever.

If any of you folks have pointers for someone just getting into the game, I'd love to hear them. I realize everyone else is just as new to Beta 3 as I am, but I know there's a pretty good sized set of knowledge about the basics of starting out that I'd appreciate the opportunity to tap into.

Please orient yourself to Wintersong's excellent meticulous guide. Don't be worried about being "good" at the game. Any skill or strategies you pick up now will probably be moot by the time the game comes out.

And when you play the beta... be prepared to be a little disappointed. But remember it's still a heck of a lot better than beta 1A, and the betas are made unfun on purpose.

It's worth noting that Wintersong's indeed excellent guide is unfortunately somewhat outdated now, it looks like the last time it was seriously updated was Beta 2A.  However, much of the information on there still applies.
