Sorry about the late reply, didn't notice the second question 'til now. In case you haven't found the answers yet the first starting point is always the player, 2 and up are the major NPC factions and minors have their separate starting points under the big M icon at the end of that tool bar.
It's been quite a while since I played it but if I recall correctly you need to use the windows default pathway for documents folder for both the Spellforce games or they won't run... It was that or the game had to be in the C: default install path even. *shrugs*
It's right-clicking to place, had an issue at times where the map doesn't reflect the added objects for a few minutes while editing.
If you have a daughter she will join her husbands faction instead. And of course you gain a champion if your son marries, grandchildren may sometimes join their mothers faction as well. Haven't had it happen myself but I believe it's been posted by one of the developers that if the sovereign dies with an heir they take over and it was possible to inherit factions this way through intermarriage.
Should just have been the one, no chance they jumped straight to level 3 though? A pack of spiders have a bit higher CR then the sovereign early game and would be good exp.
You need to move any files you change into the mods folder, it doesn't read the files extracted in the data/english one. And of course make sure you still have Use Mods activated in options.
Excellent work Wraith! Tried editing a few things based on your work and found that keeping the calfs part of the leggings and instead changing the boots to the kingdom female model looks a lot better, especially for the metal armours, without any noticable clipping. Barranoid: They work just fine, drop into the mod folder and start a new game and you're all set.
The mods library downloads the maps into Document/My Games/Elemental folder whilst the map editor looks for maps in the /Maps where you installed the game, just copy and paste the downloaded ones there and you'll be able to load in the editor. No idea about the save game maps, sorry.
"+ Renamed Lumber Yard to Lumber Mill. Makes note that it requires an old growth forest." From the Beta 3 patch notes, so it's not enough to be in a forested area, need to actually have one of the resource nodes present. Fairly certain the Hiergamenon also notes this on the build card.
