Sorry in advance if this strikes anyone as flamebait. I just bought Civilization 5, and I'm amazed by a. how polished it is and fun it is to play (though there are some graphical glitches every few hours that require a restart) and b. how many of the new things introduced in this version of Civilization are mirrored in Elemental. I didn't think it was possible for a game released in 2010 to be a Civilization 5 clone, but Elemental is one. I'd gotten fired up over a video

Thinking this over the past few days, I probably was experiencing the same scope blindness as the dev team in that I was all hyped up on how great the concept is that I couldn't see past it to objectively examine the game. Looking forward to the changes. I'm thinking with the new focus on city development negative city enchantments will have more utility. Hoping the "glass cannons" issue is addressed as well. Initiative for first move concerns me, as it could mean in
Hostility? Apathy, maybe; but there's no hostility here.
When the reviews came out, I thought, What are they complaining about? It isn't that bad. Meanwhile I haven't played the game even once. I don't count messing around with it a few times during beta. I just don't feel any compulsion to play the game.
A quest that plays more like a text adventure.
Professional woman, as opposed to a working girl.
Ever seen the movie Big ? My life has been sort of like that. I started using when I was 13 and my life after that was one long blackout, so it's as if I just woke up one morning to find myself in the body of a 32-year old man, still living in
I stumbled upon this on YouTube. It's a method for taking 3D tracking data from Voodoo (PFTrack or SynthEyes should also work), and then deforming a sphere in Blender to fit those tracking points so you create a rough mesh from them, and then projecting the original image onto the mesh. It's basically a poor man's Faceshop, only better IMO because it captures 3D data directly from the model--and it's free. This
I found a guide to extracting N64 models from 2004. It's a little confusing, outdated, and uses 3DS Max in the latter steps; but I figured out most of the process. You should be able to put it together between the original guide and my notes. For sake of expediency and in case the original page goes down, I'll paste the relevant passages here. ---Step 1. Preparation--- a. First, ma
I had the same issue today. Using Firefox and IE Tab. Joe User worked.
Found some models ripped from Pokemon Stadium 2: http://www.models-resource.com/nintendo_64/pokemonstadium2/ Also, just bits of textures from Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Stadium 2: http://www.textures-resource.com/other_systems/pokesnap/ There's a lot more there, too, like Nintendo Power style game maps and building sprit
A mod that really pushes the limit of how different one can make the game. For example, a mod that takes place in a modern office and instead of combat you have to generate reports in Excel. Or a mod that takes place in a laundromat in which all of the washing machines transform into beautiful girls.
Can we have nested accept and deny statements to simulate a dialogue tree?
More on the unit designer as battlemech garage: It shouldn't be too difficult to break each mesh into component parts that can be interchanged as armor, so you could have a basic mech with possible upgrades like a radar or communications dish on the shoulder, jump jets, missile launcher, and so on. The equipment categories would have to be renamed. I'm seeing brushed metal, cyberpunk, style windows with loose wires hanging out, category names as green LCD displays. <p
I'd like to see mecha function as mounts, with tiny-sized humans (barely visible unless you zoom in). Playing with scale is a lot of fun. Scavenging destroyed mecha would also be a cool game mechanic. A battlemech garage would make for a cool unit designer interface, too. (Human units--pilots, doctors, mechanics, armored infantry--would be made available through research, their equipment through shops.) There was a Japanese tokusatsu show--can't remember the
This is awesome. I'm gonna read this in-depth this weekend. A tip that might help: If you select a window and hit ctrl+alt+printscreen, it captures a screen shot of only that active window. That way you don't have to crop the image. You can just open MS Paint, or your image editor of choice, and paste.
LOL, that is pretty cool. Great job on the descriptions. Can you make futuristic-style buildings in the tile editor? That and the background images might be easy places to start on the graphics.
Screenshots?
I think it was Inindo: Way of the Ninja.
Karate Kid. I was just trying to have fun. [e digicons][/e]
LOL. Yes, let's have piggyback rides! That would be awesome.
I saw it last night, and it was awesome. I'm still concerned that the comic book might propagandize me, though.
With great power comes great responsibility.
If you can even get a unit to appear hovering above another unit, that would be useful information for modders. This will be huge once 3D is opened up.
