This can feel artificial and strange, and also means that any sort of diplomatic game is subsumed by the 'real politik' of beating up the biggest threat, no matter who your allies or enemies were in the past. The "cheat the computer stronger" approach also just usually means the player takes longer to c

Ideally we would want to be able to do some of the politicing outlined in a song of ice and fire, perhaps even have ambasadors within rival courts and bribe notable people to join our side, provide warning of attacks. (of course princesses would be the primary source of this)

Or add a couple of options disband unit - XP lost, half the gold and materials used in the equipment are regained Retrain unit - same calculation as for training a new unit but only for the equipment elements that are added, any equipment that is removed, half the gold and materials are recovered. XP of original unit is retained.
you can't - the soveregn at the start is saved, but level and items are not (otherwise it would be too difficult to balance with the other characters) re the other questions 2. I don't think anything else would be necessary as that would confirm the purchase date. 3. Not yet - you would

Could it just be that for the types of games we are interested in it is the strategic depth and replayablity that we value highest, which is the exact thing that it is difficult to determine after testing the game for however long they are given. That can only be found out after a few hundred hours of play time. That is also probably why everything is 3d and super graphics as that is easy to see and review rather than concentrating on the gameplay.

Kind of like a bar, when a stag do comes through, things get a little crazy for a while. In time things settle back down, the old guard are mostly still there and you get a few new faces.
Ive been thinking of requiring food to construct an outpost. Thoughts?
Absolutely essential - the basic structure of an outpost (i.e. a new outpost with no buildings) produces population growth (1 person per turn) and access to a second market/workshop/etc. If people are going to be a resource then you need some cost to offset this. This is exactly the same reason as why settlers went from 1 pop to 2 pop from
In a recent interview Kael said that the main starting point was to get the lore 100% right and then build slowly around it.
That was because they had a well developed lore (17 years of a tabletop RPG) to work from. However good a writer Brad is, it is a huge advantage to have that much weight of Lore to draw on. That gives you a solid core, a reason to say no, and a help in making the inevitable desig
Perhaps have a cross bow that causes 2 effects 1 a high damage shot 2 a spell effect that means that the unit can no longer attack with a duration of a turn or 2 (simulate winding the crossbow) there was some example about a club that did extra damage but removed the counter attack somewhere.
Makes me think of the Civ V modders guide - if you haven't seen it its here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=385009 That solution is quite neat
Depending on how modular the mod is it would be good to have the individual elements submitted so that people can do the elements that they are best at, and others can use them. That might help start off some more community projects like the elf one.
FFH2 - rise from Erebus - Not the scenarios though - just random world, random civ, random leader.

For example (and I have not seen a 'not' list in ANY game as I can recall) is show me every city that DOES NOT have a barracks, granary, what-have-you that all cities should have. A few games with resource type items might even have a list. that is good. But finding that ONE or TWO places where the resource is missing, well that would be really helpful and a time saver. <b
