Is there a mod to change the number of turns required before a city can be razed? Failing that, which XML file has the number, so I can go edit it myself? I haven't been able to find it. Note that this is not about the insta-raze AI bug. This is about me, not liking the waiting period and wanting to change it. Thanks.

I will have to check this out. JA2 is one of my favorite games ever -- the last time I played it through, I soloed with just the IMP merc, and finished will every sector on the map cleared and Meduna full of veteran militia before I killed Deidranna.

@Tridus (mostly) You wanted the opinion of someone who ripped Blizzard in the SC2 thread, and I guess I qualify. Comparing the single-player DRM of Elemental to SC2 is apples and oranges. Elemental has no single-player DRM; SC2 does. I'm against DRM in single-player, period. As far as this goes, I'm still happy with Stardock, and still unhappy with Blizzard. Comparing the multi-player experience ... well, here we have apples and apples. What Sta

That a mod is thin-skinned and ban-happy? I don't find it hard to believe at all. I've seen it. Admittedly, there's a lot of jerkassery goes on which deserves banning, but in some cases the mods abuse their positions. Or they or their employers decide the forum in question is going to be squeaky-clean and ban anyone who expresses an opinion. Or the forum goes 1984 and bans anyone who's critical of a pet issue.
Seems to make sense. I heard about this a while ago and I've been thinking about doing it. I'd need to get the barefoot stile shoes though, because I don't think I'd want to run completely barefoot in the streets here; due to them being hot enough to fry eggs and all.
We should really keep this out of the SC2 discussion, but I wanted to add a word of caution: you don't want to switch over to full-on barefoot run

Outdoors, no shoes is the goal. I mostly run in uncushioned flats at the moment, until I build up better calluses. I can only do about a half mile barefoot now. After that, I risk blisters. In barefoot running, you land on the balls of your feet, you keep your calf muscle tight so that your Achilles' tendon acts as a spring. If you do it right, your heels barely touch the ground. It's practically no impact on your knees and back, like you get from landing

These days? Very little. In the last five years, I've drifted away from PC games and toward console games. On the whole, I prefer PC games, but PC game developers have made their choices and I've made mine. And you're talking to someone who reinstalls and plays through JA2 every year or two. If EWOM is any good, I can live without a day 0 patch.

You dislike this but "most" companies (the ones you hate) do it and blizzard is BETTER than "most". Complaing about SC2 seems silly in the face of say ub

There are actually two ideas in his post. The first idea is that I'm singling out SC2, which is not true . I just didn't bother to address this idea because I didn't think it was worth my time. The second idea in his post implied that my choices were that (a) I only hated Starcraft (and was a hypocrite) or that (b.) I hated everyone (and was a fruitcake). False di
