[quote who="Annatar11" reply="9" id="2696455"] if I understand Stardock's policy (correct me if I'm wrong), the online registration is not strictly required, it's only required if you want to update. Indeed that's correct, and the same thing I said. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of CyrusNunn's statement when he implied anyone who does "online registration" is not a "legit developer". Of course now he changed his story to constant online connection, rather th

At least you don't have to have a cellphone too.. like nobody in the world have those, but at least a few have internet. While SC2 looks like a good game, Blizzard's online registration requirement and their recent real-name-on-the-forums bullsh*t means that they're off my list as a legit developer.

I'm still not liking the city building system. I'm still inclined to create starfish cities, especially in early game, because it can move my borders just enough to grab a needed resource. And there's no apparent downside for doing that. Once that early game is over, I might as well select the buildings from a spreadsheet, because city building is boring. Out of everything else, this is the part that worries me, because there have been great impro

One of the things that I really don't like is that there's no incentive to build a compact city. If there are two resources seven tiles apart, I build a city that looks like a piece of spaghetti, and there's no downside for me to do that.

The thing about Tera is that while it looks fantastic, it's going to be one of those ultra-grindy Korean style MMOs. I'm not particularly enthused. I would buy SC2, Diablo 3, and Civ5, but that online registration crap is a dealbreaker for me, no matter how good the game is.

That's if I'm doing a conquest victory and churning out units as fast as I can. If I'm pursuing a tech victory or a spell of mastery, then I have every reason to pick through my level 5 cities and weed out prestige generators and extra housing if I can replace them with research or spellpower buildings. I agree that prestige mean something to level 5 cities. Maybe there's emigration and people start filling up your small cities faster? Maybe it provides a production

So when my cities hit max level, prestige is no longer important, for all intents and purposes. This means if I'm playing a tightly competitive game, there's an incentive for me to demolish all my prestige buildings in max level cities. Or if I get enough housing upgrades, I want to go destroy excess housing to free up space. Or change my houses to +prestige mansions. All of these result in me picking through cities one building at a time. That seems ... not

The current system works for me, and makes sense in-game as far as I'm concerned. If people get unhappy and leave, fine. If people get unhappy and start rioting, then my sov is gonna show up with a pair of ebbenwolves and two fistfuls of fireballs, and he's gonna be pissed . Sort of a large incentive not to riot, in my opinion. EDIT: How come we don't have prestige NPCs? Wouldn't that make sense? Like, a popular

I'm not sure whether the tooltip is wrong or the research isn't working right, but the research advancements that give 2/4/8 spellpoints only seemed to be give 1 extra spellpoint.

Essence loss for spellcasting is awful. It makes the game unplayable as it is -- at least with Military and City building research locked down. I think the best way to fix it is to have spells like Create Garden cause a temporary Essence loss. For example, if you have 10 Essence and cast Create Garden, you drop down to 7 Essence, but then you regain 0.1 Essence per turn until you're back to 10. Greening up the landscape should knock the wind out o

This may be because I'm color blind, but I'm having an extremely difficult figuring out what is dry land and what is fertile land unless I zoom in all the way and look for cracks. It would help if the cloth map showed fertile versus infertile land -- maybe with crosshatching? Adding the rare/common/uncommon notations to research helped a gret deal. Thanks for that.

Would it be possible to add a small banner or flag to unit stacks so I can see which country they belong to? Right now I can only get that info by mousing over. Last night I wanted to invade Kingdom #1, but there were 6 or 8 stacks wandering around, and I had to check each one to see if it was Kingdom #1, Kingdom #2 (which was right next door), or neutrals. And while I'm wishing, putting the stack's combat rating near the flag would be nice.

I founded four cities with my sovereign, bringing him down to an essence of 3, and then did the wolf quest. Despite it asking for 5 essence, I was able to assist the birth and got myself two new puppies. My essence at this point was zero. Working as intended?

I'd also like color blind support, and these are great suggestions. I can't tell between the yellow and the green techs, myself. Please implement these changes. Approximately 8% of your playerbase will genuinely appreciate it.

Thus, all people who had downloaded games through this DD company received DVD's from the publishers of the

Some buildings (farms, foundries, barracks) should get bonuses when they’re placed contiguously. So if two farms are next to each other, then both get +5% food production. If three, then 8%. If four or more (in any tetris shape you want), then 10%. (Note: If you don’t do diminis

What I want is something that's complex but not complicated . A good game isn't made by giving me 20 choices. That's complication. A good game is made by giving me four choices. And then giving me the same four choices again, but with those choices interacting synergistically with the first choice. A handful of simple rules interacting is complexity. I
