I have encountered this too and it is since I created a custom faction with the warhorse ability. It is really annoying to not be able to get my warhorses for my champions although they do show up as an option when designing my regular troops. Looks like a bug where the faction ability makes regular horses disappears from the shop but never replaces them with the warhorse. Interestingly this may only be a bug with custom factions because Pariden has

I like ml_reg's ideas as well. I would like to see a diplomatic option available to threaten war on an opposing wizard once you are able to find out who is casting against you. I also agree that some sort of notification like the ones we get fro city and army activities should exist to let us know a hostile spell has been cast and which city was the target. I also had a few cities where I went to work on my build queue only to discover it had 14&n

I got my first event yesterday. It was also the revelry. I was pleasantly surprised and would like to see more. It would be cool if there were both global and city based random events.

I think i found a different bug with firestorm. It is supposed to keep an inferno burning on the square fro 10 turns after casting which will damage any other units that pass that square. I found that after 10 turns the flame graphic goes away but the damage remains. I ended up creating a mine filed in one section of the map and got caught in my own damage once or twice because all indication the tile was still damaging units was gone until you moved

In my recent game I got my hands on a berserker broadsword fairly early. It only has a 12 attack but it has the maul ability. This lets you attack over and over at a reduced accuracy until you miss. So my sovereign would only do about 10-15 damage with this sword but because my accuracy was quite high she would often get 5-8 shots i before missing (sometimes more). So each attack would dole out 50 to 100+ damage every round. This let me ju

For number 2 I select my sovereigns metal color as something different from my faction metal color. I also make both unique so they stand out from the rest. My faction one would normally be blood red while my sovereigns would be imperial purple. Not quite what you had in mind but ti worked well fro giving my sovereign a unique look on the battlefield once they were equipped with metal armour.

I have encountered this "suicidal sovereign" many times as well. Once or twice I took them out and resettled all of their cities that now disappeared. After doing that a few times I simply stopped attacking unprotected sovereigns in my ZOC if I was interested in taking their already developed cities. I agree the AI needs to be more careful about this type of behavior. I also think that the cities should not simply disappear. Perhaps have t

Reply to Diplomacy in War of Magic

I won my very first game by diplomacy and another subsequent match. I see a wide array of feelings toward my kingdom from he various factions throughout the game. I had to make an effort in a few games to keep my alliances to a minimum so I could win by the spell of mastery, master quest and another by conquest. I have found the game fairly easy to play with a particular win type in mind. I always leave all types on so I can change my

Playing early in game on 1.09n and experienced a crash. My dedug.err data can be found at http://pastebin.ca/1996869 . I have alwasy eventually gotten an out of memory error but this was a lock up. I had just lost my main city and began rebuilding. It appeared to lock up when I ended my turn. I do not have a ZIP file in my program data folder.

Forgot to mention that I am also very pleased with the level of feedback and communication from Stardock . I have seen my share of issues with the game as we all have but I am really enjoying it in its current state and am truly looking forward to its evolution. The reason I forgot to mention this in my previous post is because I have been loosing sleep the past 2 weeks staying up late and playing Elemental. [e digicons]:grin

I like the idea of a revamp to magic. I also like the idea that the different books of elemental magic need to differ in such a way that they change the way you actually play the game dependi ng on which you access. Leave magic in sov generation but make it so you choose a school of magic and can spend points on a few low level spells to start the game with. Or perhaps have the faction you choose determine what schools of magic you

I ran into a similar issue. I have Win 7 64-bit and a d 5830. For me if I turned on the anti aliasing settings in the Elemental video settings my sovereign card was not displaying during set up and once I started the game my sovereign was invisible. Once I disabled AA and began a new game it then worked ok on my system.

Once I turned off AA my sovereign appeared and i played the first 100 turns or so. I was enjoying the game although I had some pesky bandits loot a city I did not have properly defended. Live and learn. And of course I was up until 4:15 AM which made it difficult to make it into work today. Oh well. Sleep deprivation is the sign of a good game isn't it?

I actually had an odd issue with my system where i cranked up the video settings and everything ran ok bu my sovereign was invisible. I have ATI 5830 cards. It was very odd. I turned AA off and that seemed to clear it up. I thought my sovereign had inherited some cool stealth ability bu instead it was just a video glitch. :)[e digicons]|-)[/e]
