I just rolled back to the WHQL Driver and the game still does not launch. I already have DirectX and Visual C++ from other games (Steam). So far Fallen Enchantress is the only game that doesn't launch in Win 8. Is there a log file I can look at to see why the game is having such issues?
What video and sound card are you guys using? I am using the 310.03 Beta Driver for Nvidia GTX 680, and Asus Phebeous(so) Souncard with Win8 Driver.
The game freezes on loading when launched in Windows 8. Anyone else having this problem? Windows 8 Professional 64 Bit, on i7-3960k.
Maybe you need to use a settler?

This might be a incredibly stupid question.. How do you move the view/map without needing to click on the minimap? Holding the middle mouse button seems to activate the camera controls (e.g. tilt and rotation) Using the arrow key moves the unit selected.
The first MP 4x game I played was Moo2. Last time I played mp with it was 3 years ago, and we only stopped because new windows OS no longer have ipx protocol that moo2 needs. MP really adds a lot to the longevity of a game. I am glad that Stardock is not giving up on it yet.
I am not at my home computer so I cannot report the bug exactly. It is the quest in which you have to retrieve a Magical Staff. I went to the location and defeated the monsters. The Quest Location marker switches back to the Quest Origin and objective is now "return the staff" But when my hero returns to the location the quest does not proceed. There was no staff in his inventory (not sure if the staff is abstracted as an quest marker/item, or if

The game does not like the patched exe. How did you guys make it work? I can also atest to the CTD with "Out of Memory" Error. It happened after 1.06. I finished the campaign with no problems before the patch.
More books will be released in the future.
So that is what is going on XD I was sitting there dumb founded after the cutscene thinking my game glitched because it didn't record me finishing Book 1. Looking forward to Book 2 :) Keep up the good work.
