2 Gigs Now, a quick thing about that. No matter how much memory is on your computer, a PC game will only be able to see 2 gigabytes of it unless the game itself is 64-bit which, to my knowledge, there are no major games that fit that yet. This is something pretty high on our priority list for the future but with most people still running 32-bit Windows, we have to focus on the here and now.
<a title="Large Address Aware" href="http://www.tech

I don't think that the fundemental issues of MLC flash can or will be addressed with time. These articles are a good read. http://www.enterprisestorageforum.com/article.php/3894671 http://www.enterprisestorageforum.com/technology/article.php/39
Civ V seems to be running fine for me on my i7860 and GTX280 at 1920x1200. I've seen a couple of slowdowns but nothing that has made me consider turning down any settings. I have everything maxed out right now.
Quoting awuffleablehedgie, reply 64 and that is relevant how? Enjoy your vomit. It also requires Windows so I'm not buying it because of that. I would rather support the only AAA PC exclusive that I have seen in a long time.
Only, on Impulse forums will you see a thread like this. I would have prefered a normal retail copy but whatever this game will blow Elemental out of the water. I'm sure that I'll get my moneys worth. Valve's games rock and I keep Steam installed at all times anyways. Impulse isn't DRM? What D2D, gamersgate, and EADM don't have DRM? They all manage better sales than I've even seen from Impulse so it's a bit hard to blame Steam there. Gamersgate and D2D have better
Quoting ozo, reply 13Considering what shitpile GFWL was... this is an improvement. Of course one can wonder why there must be some idiotic dependency on first place. Here's the thing though with GFWL and Fallout 3. All that was required was that GFWL was installed. That's it. I never once ran it, I still don't have an account on it and don't plan on it. All FO3 cared wast that it was just installed. I
Thanks for the response. I can't wait to see how the game turns out in the coming months. I still have high hopes for Elemental. I had fun with it for the first few hours that I played. Sadly due to a few gameplay elements I just kind of lost interest. This is my first Stardock game other than Sins which I never really got around to playing (I really should) and if Elemental turns out half as well as I hope SD will have a new fanboy. I'll wait things out and give you gu
This is an interesting read. http://scarsofwargame.com/DevBlog/ This part really stands out.
I check in on Brad’s blog every now and then, let me refer you to a post on the 31st of July : What’s going to be better than Beta 4? What isn’t changing? I think it’s pretty well known I don’t like Beta 4. I’m n
We do not give refunds on beta or pre-release versions of software or subscription renewals. Refunds are only available for fully-released programs. So, sorry, think you are out of luck.
That has nothing to do with Elemental which is a fully released product.
Yeah cause google is so damn hard to use.
No, if I could get my money back for Elemental I would. There is just no way that this game is worth $50 at this point. Wait and buy the fixed, final version at bargain bin prices.
You'd think he would reaize how long it takes for a game that went gold to be printed, packaged, shipped, and sold.
Why did I have to wait until the 25th for the "day zero patch" when actual release was supposed to be the 24th?
I ran Civ4 for the longest time on a 2ghz Yonah core with an Intel IGP. Yeah it wasn't the optimal experience but it ran pretty well. I don't really see much more going on with elemental. I see slowdowns with an i7 860 and GTX280 there is no real reason for that imo.
I have to agree that the tech trees just feel off. There doesn't seem to be the balance of the tech tree from Civ4. What makes things worse is diplomacy is completely broken and there really needs to be some improvements to city building.
I won't be playing this game for a while. I'm going to wait until things get patched up. By the time that I pick the game up again I'm sure that I would have been able to buy it for quite a bit less than the $50 that I paid.
Quoting Drockmar, reply 8What should I do to make the computer work, so I can make the game work then? I got MyClean PC. . . Should that work? Your issue is hardware related, thus the MyClean PC software won't help. Most likely one of the components inside your system is overheating and thus the entire system shuts down. First I'd recommend turning off your computer and using an air gun to clean any dust inside.&nb
The Witcher sounds like the RPG for you. No horror but is a solid recent rpg.
No piece of software should ever make your computer crash. You do have a problem but it's not due to the game.
If it happens again I'll make sure to send it to you, thanks. One more issue that I have had happen a bit more often is that during tactical battles occasionally when I right click on an enemy my player will move to a different tile instead of attacking the enemy. A guy on Rage3d actually made a post describing having the same problem occasionally.
The game has been running pretty well for me. I just wanted to report one issue that I'm having with the new patch. This only happened a couple of times but I had a weird problem where a couple of my characters would not form a party when sent to the same tile. The just stacked kind of like when on a city. I had something similar happen with a monster where instead of starting a fight my group just stood on the same tile as a group of monsters. Anyways thanks I'm having
I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't upgrade my existing units at all. Strange, since they are battle hardened soldiers. I'll need to play quite a bit more before I can really comment on how I feel it effects balance.
I changed my directories in preferences but it installed to Program files x86 anyways. I now have to download and install again but this time with with prompt for directory enabled since apparently the archive option didn't seem to work either.

Elemental is one of those games that makes me miss having a boxed copy just for the manual. It would be great to at least be able to download a PDF copy of the manual with the digital version of the game. I wish that I had just shelled out the extra few bucks with my preorder.
