I know the next patch will be majorly updating the city aspect of the game; I was just wondering if the team plans on giving similar treatment to the tactical battles in the future, or is what's there now more or less what'll be in the final release? Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere (please direct me if so). I only get time to stop by every now and then, so not fully up-to-date on the design/discussion process.

Thanks for the replies guys. Can the music files be replaced with our own mp3s (e.g. the Age of Wonders II soundtrack) so that those play instead in-game?
Hi all, not currently in the beta, was just wondering if someone could comment on the music. Is it good? For me, music can really make or break the atmosphere in a video game. Has the music changed from War of Magic? I couldn't find any dedicated Fallen Enchantress music videos on Youtube, and all of the Let's Plays and previews have the volume set too low to really hear anything meaningful. Thanks for your thoughts!
Thanks for the replies guys. Just wondering if anyone from Stardock would be willing to comment?
I know Fallen Enchantress won't be going retail, but I was wondering if there's any chance of getting a Collector's Edition for fans willing to pay a little extra? I've noticed that many recent Kickstarter campaigns have been offering boxed versions filled with goodies (Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Leisure Suit Larry, Moebius, the list goes on and on...). If they can do it, and if there's enough demand, would Stardock be willing to d
Oh ok, thanks again. It's weird though how the "digital + DVD" option was available just a few days ago. Anyway, appreciate the clarification.
Well I know the game won't be available in Walmart or Best Buy (i.e. no retail), but I thought Stardock would be making hard copies to send directly to those who wanted it? Have those plans been scrapped too? Sorry if that's what you mean, just want to be sure. TellTale's games sometimes don't go retail either, but the company still sends DVDs to customers paying a little extra (to cover pressing and shipping costs). Just wanted to see if that
Previously there was an option to pre-order the digital + DVD version of Fallen Enchantress for $49.95 (39.95 for the game itself, 10 for DVD shipping charges). I no longer see this option on the order page ( https://www.elementalgame.com/fallen-enchantress/purchase ). Have plans to make a DVD version upon release been scrapped? If not, how can I specify that I would like the DVD package on the order
Ok, thanks for the clarification! That's good news all around.
Do you need to be connected to the Internet in order to play Elemental? I am usually online, but this afternoon my lights went out, which immediately killed my wireless connection. I tried to boot-up Elemental Beta 3 on my laptop but was greeted by an error message indicating that I wasn't connected to the Internet! I couldn't get the Beta up and running until my power was back. :( I hope a constant Internet connection won't be required to play the actual game!<
Thanks, that fixed my problem!
Well on my wireless one, I had to specifically set a button to act as the third button, the "Middle Button". Because my middle button was designed to be a Universal Scroll button, so when I clicked it it like the normal 3rd button i.e. the Middle Button it wouldn't register here in Elemental as such. So, I remapped one of my other buttons and thus have to hold it down, when spinning the map.
Thanks for the replies. Holding down the middle button and moving the mouse doesn't seem to work. :( I have a Logitech Wireless Mouse with Setpoint Settings installed, (a program which allows me to control what each button does). I have a feeling this is what's causing the problem. Currently, the middle button is set to an option called "Auto Scroll," which (when pressed in a document or IE window) creates an icon with two arrows. Hovering above
I've seen videos of players rotating the camera, but I can't figure out how to do it myself! I can zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, but how to I change my viewing angle? Thanks!
This is probably a question only Brad can answer: Amazon.com currently lists August 24 as the release date for Elemental: Destiny's Embers. If the game is delayed from August to February, will the novel be pushed back too? It would be nice to get the novel a few months before the game so we could get introduced to the lore/world. This is what EA did with Dragon Age and its first novel, The Stolen Throne, and I think it worked rather well.
I would like to echo the sentiment that Beta 2 ran much smoother than Beta 2B (using the same settings). Not only that, I think Beta 2 had fewer crashes/freeze-ups as well.
2B or not 2B, that is the question. /dodges incoming tomatoes.
Ya, I like too! :)
I apologize if this has been asked and answered elsewhere. Brad recently outlined Beta 2-A, which is supposed to come out sometime this week. A while back he also posted a tentative Beta schedule ( https://forums.elementalgame.com/363845 ), which mentions Beta 2, Beta 2-A, and Beta 3... does that mean Beta 2-A is the last before Beta 3, or not necessarily?
I discovered the technology that should allow me to build a barracks, but I don't see it in the list of available buildings. ::Confused:: Also, I cannot build a Granary, even though I seem to have the required resources. Can anyone help?
So I figured out the answer to question 2. Still wondering about the taxes, if anyone can help :)
Two questions: 1) How can I raise taxes so that my gold doesn't start dropping? 2) Where are my newly created units stored? How can I select them? Thanks!
Just wondering if the game's performance will get better with subsequent patches? I experienced noticible performance upgrades during the Starcraft II Beta (i.e. Patch 15 ran much smoother on my computer using near-max settings than Patch 5 did). Do you foresee similar performance upgrades with Elemental (specifically with the framerate during zooming in and out), or not really?
Woah! The new music is AWESOME!!!
That's GREAT to hear! I'm downloading now as I type - can't wait to boot it up! :)
Actually, (though Tormy is right that is Old) , that is a "mock-up" , if I'm not mistaken. It's not a "Real" picture of combat. Note: It's "possible" I'm wrong and that is a Real combat shot from the old internal build. I'm pretty sure it's a mock-up though.
That makes more sense, especially considering the fact that there haven't been many new combat screens shown since then.
I think the screen Cyro posted looks really nice, despite it being pretty old. Does anyone else agree?
