@Andon The issue is the massive city leveling bonuses, not the raw population stat or building requirement.

Because saying the way to fix elemental is to clone a different game is ridiculous?
As I suspected. People are more interested in engaging in pointless debate instead of divining what was actually meant by 'complexity.'
Age of Wonders, Age of Wonders 2, and AoWSM all received stellar reviews at launch. But Stardock, please, for the love of God shut this thread down.
God please lock this thread.
If you look at Frogboy's comment in context, I think its clear that he's referring to a different type of complexity (n^2 problems and analyses are huge in programming, especially with things like AI. In any case, its obvious that the community wants a more compelling tactical game, and Stardock is nothing if not responsive to their community. Google/wikipedia N^2 or N2 to see some examples of the types of problems he's referring to.
Still eagerly awaiting more news on the promised trog porn. This is very important. Also, I really want to give a big thumbs up for locking down unproductive drama threads that have been taking over the board. I'd like to see more of that. If this means that at some point, one of my threads is closed, or my posts deleted, so be it. I'd rather have this board purged of the current jihadist movements and rival sects that have devel
I believe he was referring to AI decision complexity, and that the AI currently is looking at problems in a more complex way than is necessary (n^2). Refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_O_notation for more information on the specific type of 'complexity' that Brad is referring to. It's a technical term used differently in a mathematical / comp. sci. setting. He's not talking about the complexity
I actually prefer the default portraits. I thought one thing elemental does extremely well is achieving a very original aesthetic unity. But to the OP: you should make a reskin mod! I'm sure people would love it!
I have some speculation regarding the finances of a business whose message board I frequent and I would like to share them with you all. For eight whole pages.
As far as I can tell, the race of your Sovereign is inconsequential. It is the race of your people that decides which spellbook you receive.
Empire factions get the death book, Kingdom factions get the life book. Spells are not located in the left hand bar. That contains usable items and special abilities. To cast spells, you must click on the book icon next to your essence bar, just like you would on the world map.
It's a good idea to always have at least one unit defending a city. When starting a new city, that means you should send a soldier that can handle whatever you've got crawling around the map.
Can this endless cycle of grandstanding please stop so that the community can come together and provide the developers coherent and concrete descriptions of bugs, exploits, and game system issues? At this point, no one cares what you personally feel about the release of Elemental. If you want a refund get a refund. If you're gonna stick it out, threads like this simply dilute the pool of focused critique that some of the community would like to be able to provide. &n
Ah, so your knowledge of copyright law is derived from a Walmart customer service desk... But back on point, why is this game's poor release creating such a visceral and obsessive compulsion to post in defense of a product whose creator has said was in a poor state at release. Let it go. They'll fix it. Stop cluttering up the forums with this asinine drivel. These are adults. They don't need you for moral support. They don't need you
That's not how copyright law works, Drago. Return policies actually have nothing to do with copyright law. Copyright is what protects a brand from being replicated and sold by separate corporate entities.
Again: I support them as well. I support them unconditionally, and I hope that they recover from this debacle. I believe the strongest way to do this is by providing vicious, unrestrained, and honest feedback. These are big boys. They don't need a harem of fans petting them and cooing. Its frankly insulting that people assume that Stardock employees are these delicate little flowe
You can buy a version of MoM on Good Old Games (gog.com)that is windows compatible for $6.
Crypto, I'll try this one more time. Are you aware of the Stardock developed Gamers Bill of Rights?
Also Re: solidarity with Stardock I stated this earlier, but I feel that it is important enough to repeat: I support them as well. I support them unconditionally, and I hope that they recover from this debacle. I believe the strongest way to do this is by providing vicious, unrestrained, and honest feedback. These are big boys. Boyd, I don't think you understood my post. I was saying that yes, you should expect to be able to return a Stardock game with no hassle because they have posted a "Gamer's Bill of Rights" that contains guidelines they expect all moral game development studios to follow, and one of these rights they define is the ability for consumers to return unsatisfactory products. I just think this whole descent into culinary hypotheticals is bizarre.
If the restaurant in question has a giant poster in front that says: "Customers have the right to return a meal they didn't enjoy, then yes, I would expect to be able to return a meal. Why the hell are people even talking about a hypothetical restaurant?
